Whenever I had to live with no AC in 90+ degree summers I tried the whole diy swamp cooler thing, and I personally found it was more hassle than it's worth (and if you don't set it up right/clean it regularly it might start growing mold and you'd be blowing mold spores all over).
The way I got through it was just using wet towels. I'd drape the wet towel over the back of a chair, point a box fan towards it, and it worked like magic. Honestly I remember it working better than the swamp cooler, and it was much easier to setup and maintain, just replace the towel when it's dry. When I didn't have a fan, I'd hang the towel up next to an open window and try to get a draft going, it had a similar effect. I hope this helps!! Heat is the worst, stay safe 🤙
I just saw something similar to this while looking up the diy swamp coolers.... maybe ill just put a wet towel over the fan i keep right next to me while im at my desk!
