It’s clearly not canon but one thing that would have been cool would have been that when a cat gives a life to a new leader, they fade (except for former leaders who will have to give lives to nine different cats before they fade). (also in this scenario they don’t fade when they’re not remembered anymore)
Runningwind giving a life to Firestar because he can now rest in peace knowing he’s been avenged.
Mudclaw giving a life to Onestar before fading because he thinks it’s best to fade than to stay with all the hurt he brought to Windclan.
Old cats pretending to be legendary cats in order to smooth the ego of new leaders, but really being here because they want to fade at last (”hello Heatherstar yes I am totally Daisytail who put a new rule in the warrior code and whom you’ve only ever heard about)
Shadowstar sacrificing one of her nine star-lives to give to Blackstar because she desperately wants to believe he will be a new beginning for Shadowclan and not yet another blood-thirsty tyrant.
Cloudstar giving a life to Leafstar because again new beginning, and hope that it won’t just stop after a few seasons.
now obviously that means that all the “personnal” lives (a mother to her child or a dead sister/mentor etc) would end up with the leader arriving in Starclan with no one they know in it because they all faded. So not that cool. But still...
