The Diopside’s soft & tender voice that was always so welcoming found its way to be irritable. Her words of admiration - how she spoke so fondly for rebellious gems of whom she doesn’t know, it left a bitter taste in the Sapphire’s mouth. What would one call this? This sensation that lurks under his skin, that boils his blood like no other - It was on the tip of his tongue. However, he was far too seething to get a handle of what he felt.
He could feel himself cracking as each second passes- his calm guise serves as nothing but a facade for the tiny gem beside him. She was blissfully unaware of the unnerving twitch of his eyes- the tapping of his foot which warns of what is to come. Nothing would prepare her for when the last chord snaps- the twinkle in her eyes being what sets it all aflame.
In an instant, the Sapphire’s hands scrunch up- nails digging into the very sole of his palms, as he unclenches his jaw that he had done so hard to keep shut. With nothing to hold him back, he finally greets the other with a heated gaze. “ – If you like them so much, why don’t you just join them ?!” His voice bounces in an echo.
“Why don’t I just leave you on this dirt rock of a planet so you can become as worthless as the rest of these traitorous pebbles?! After all, your cut of gem is prone to running away with their tail behind their backs! If you much prefer their company over mine, then do us all the favor and leave- just admit that you’d prefer to be free than stay with me!”
