#dagger's edge

"I saw it in a film called "Road Games" where there's one scene where she jumps out of the truck and writes down on the sand "Tomorrow's bacon". I just thought it was a great phrase. That appears in songs "Don't Ask Me to Beg" (if I'm not mistaken) and "Dagger's Edge" 'cause it's my favourite thing that I'd wanna say. *laughs* There's something resonant in that I can't really explain why. Something to do with the mechanised way that we slaughter livestock. And that's some sort of brutal image. But the fact that it's packaged as bacon rather than this horrific thing. And I eat meat, that's not something I can truly attest to. But the true horror of it. And it happens several times on the record. There are a few mentions of the slaughterhouse and that world. Something about selling horror and death. I tried to mention money or commerce in every song. I tried to include some kind of transaction, shall we say *laughs*, in a lot of songs."
