    That said, there are very few dubstep acts and songs that I actually enjoy, much less ones that I would ask you to listen to. When dubstep starts playing you’ll often find me breaking off from the group and doing something else that’s more productive or enlightening. Like for example… doing my taxes early or re-arranging my sock drawer. There’s just something about that *WUB-WUB-WUB* sound combined with the broken timing that alienates me. Luckily, there are some diamonds in the rough, like Bassnectar, who seem to understand timing, how to play musical instruments, and manage to crank out some pretty high-quality material overall. My brother introduced me to this one-man act over a decade ago, and I was caught off guard because I’d never been emotionally affected by drum-and-bass or breakbeat music to that point. This is Butterfly featuring Mimi Page from the 2012 album Vava Voom. It’s just a pleasant song that resonates with me for some reason, I think because it’s reminds me somewhat of music by Aphex Twin. Deejay Lorin Ashton does some outstanding work for the genre, adding depth, intelligence, and texture to whatever he brings to the table. This solo act did something for me no other dubstep creator did; they made me like glitch-hop for one brief, shining moment, which is basically my musical equivalent of green eggs and ham. And yes, I would listen to this song in a house, with a mouse, in a box, with a fox, here, there or anywhere! You have made me like what I despise, Sam-I-Am.
