Context is a SpAus AU in the 90s-early 0ts. Rod (child prodigy turned professional musician/conductor aiming for a professorship) and Carmen (an accomplished flamenco dancer and instructor) have a son named Roland (2p!Austria). He grows up to be a guitarist in a metal band, but as a child he’s just a little creature asking every unhinged question under the sun and introducing him to the concept of Krampus has only encouraged him.
Anyway, Roland is the little shit who will not ask directly for something because it’s less fun, so he’ll say some out-of-pocket shit to get what he wants. Here he says something like “you can’t pick me up and carry me anymore because you’re old and creaky”. And of course Rod takes this personally like “Oh I can’t, can I? Well, let’s see what you have to say about that when I leave you on top of the refrigerator, hmm? That’s right - call the fire department. They can’t hear you from all the way up there!”
