I love how His Dark materials fics will be tagged like: "uwu Dadriel fun content with him as a known dad" then the fic will be like he is the worst father to ever exist and doesn't talk to Lyra at all. It's AMAZING

Sorry if youâve already answered this, but will you ever continue Dadriel? Or is it finished? Itâs such an adorable fic and I always find myself going back to read it đЎ
Hi, anon! That's a great question. First off, I'm so glad you like them! They were a joy to write. I have a few more ideas for the series and I hope to get back to it eventually. It's just another example of so much to do, so little time. I'm currently writing four things, three of them biggies, so Dadriel might be something fun to go back to one I need a little break.
A Warm Home (Is All I Wish For)
Read on AO3
Lyra & Asriel, Lyra / Will, Modern AU, Dadriel, Father-Daughter relationship focus
Ch 1/?, 5.1k, T rated
Lyra has a father.
He's just not around very often, leaving her raising (or lack of) to the staff and professors of Jordan College, Oxford. She lives her life as if she didn't have any parents at all, running wild across the streets. She doesn't care - it's better to not have parents anyway.
(But she actually does, and everytime he comes home she hopes he won't have to leave again.)
-
AU where Lyra grows up in Will's world.
Dadriel #11: Fear is Not My Future
Azriel reminisces fondly about the past as he simultaneously dreads what the future holds.
Read it on Ao3 here
I haven't posted anything in a while and needed to get this out of my head. Mostly fluff with a little side of emotional hurt/comfort. Enjoy!
Take Me Home
Read on ao3
Dadriel, canon divergence, hurt/comfort, fluff
Back in Oxford, Lyra feels like nothing has changed since she went up North. As if her time away was a tiny moment in time.
But in reality nothing stays the same. She has to deal with what she left behind and her feelings of belonging, in a place she no longer considers her home.

Early Mornings
Azriel x reader
Parenting prompt
Y/S/N- your sons name, Y/D/N- your daughters name
After your son is born, Azriel becomes his favorite person. Azrielâs always there to get up with him during the night, claiming you did enough taking care of the babe already, so now itâs his turn. Sometimes you wake up to find the baby asleep on your mateâs naked chest; other timeâs Azriel is singing to him, or feeding him a bottle.
Night quickly becomes bonding time for your boys, so you try to stay out of it, but itâs so hard not to peek in when your sonâs giggling at Azrielâs shadows. Your son even becomes distraught when he naturally starts sleeping through the night. Azrielâs no better, obviously cranky the morningâs after your baby boy sleeps soundly.
âI know Iâm supposed to be happy he sleeps all night, but I miss him making me up every other hour,â Az says, frowning as he watches the baby play on the floor a few feet away.
Like Father Like Son
Cute and kinda angsty. I had this in my drafts for a while, this request gave me a reason to finally finish it. More Batdad stuff to come eventually
WC: 1978
Your son was a mamaâs boy. He followed you around constantly and hated being anywhere you werenât. Azriel didnât care too much at first. The baby was content in his arms, always quiet and relaxed. He didnât smile or laugh like he did when you held him, but he never cried, so it was fine, Azriel thought.
When the boy got older, though, Az started feeling excluded. Kaiâs first word was âMama,â but that was expected. His second work was âCasâ. That pissed Azriel off. His third word wasnât Papa, but it was âshadow,â so Az wasnât too mad about it.Â
When Kai started crawling, he crawled toward you, away from Az. Every night he wanted Mama to read him a story, so you tucked him in and kissed him on the head before bed. Az stayed in the office stewing during bedtimes. He felt out of place. Kai never wanted him to read the stories, so what was the point of standing around, useless.
Soooo⌠dadriel?

Hi, Anon! I hear ya. I am so behind writing this next ACOWAS chapter, so not this weekend. But, the next dadriel I have lined up is actually pretty timely with the content (which I wrote the outline for last Summer). It's more on a serious note dealing with real issues after giving birth and the early stages of parenthood. This whole series is from Azriel's POV, so it's him watching Gwyn go through, and struggle, with certain things and finding ways to help. But, rest assured, beyond this one, there are a few more cutesy ones, too. This certain topic is just really close to my heart, so I wanted to address it. Hopefully next week.
