Looking for Ursa right after being banished had some...wildly unexpected results. One: Zuko actually found her. Two: she wasn't alone. Three: leaving her children behind in order to protect them was, apparently, just something she did.
Looking at the bright side, Zuko now had a three-year-old younger brother to look after. Looking at the dark side, Zuko now had a three-year-old kid he needed to parent while also keeping him a secret from his father becauseāmay Agni help himāthe Fire Lord would have to go through Zuko first if he dared to even look at Lu Ten II.
(AKA an AU in which Zuko is a good big brother and doesn't want another kid to grow up like he did.)
You know, it just sits so right with me that Zuko was that one tired dad just trying to take care of what they were supposed to be taking care of when they were when Zuko was fixing the ship š¤£
Also bonus for Katara looking at the big picture aka the untrustworthy red flags of this question mark of a new character Tagah and his undue emotional influence on Aang and sketchy character/behavior (Katara looking out for the wellbeing of the group and Zuko focusing on the practical problem/mission facing them š)

No one takes it out of my head that if Katara used to have the habit of stealing Zuko's clothes, to provoke him, during pregnancy she wears them for comfort. And Zuko loves this thing and purposely leaves his clothes unattended to be "stolen" so he can give her that nickname.
He also knows that Katara doesn't like papayas, but he calls Steambabies anyway, they are that size, so Katara will have to put up with it, at least for a month.
Dadko the type who has āconversationsā with his steambaby. As in, he will listen to their baby babble and reply like he understands what theyāre saying.

There is so much emotion in this one facial expression, and I thought it suited Zuko very much considering his character and Daddy Issues.
