Oh is it Dad Josh hours?

happy saturday! so we’ve talked about how josh loves skin to skin contact, and i also know it’s good for babies to have skin to skin contact, which brings me this thought: you come home after a quick run to the store, and know it’s your baby’s nap time so you enter the house and quietly call to josh but you get no response. so you wonder about the house and don’t see them anywhere, until you look outside and see josh on a lunge chair in the shade having a snooze with the baby. he doesn’t have a shirt on, and the baby curled up on his chest. both of them are napping away in the cool breeze outside. -🦦

Dad!Josh thought:

i have some more dad josh! one night, your baby starts to fuss a little, so josh wants to get out of bed and comfort her before she wakes you up. josh takes off his shirt and holds the baby to his chest. he walks around and bounces her lightly trying to soothe her softly. the baby won’t stop fussing, if anything she’s getting worse and josh is beginning to panic. he sees how good you are at comforting your baby, and doesn’t understand why he can’t calm his own baby down. he’s devastated, and begins overthinking everything, how can he go on tour and leave his baby for a year if he can’t even calm her down when he is with her all the time. josh walks into your shared bedroom and tearfully wakes you up saying he needs help calming the baby down because he’s a failure and feels like he can’t do it. you immediately look at josh like he’s crazy because he’s been the best dad ever. your baby is obsessed with josh, how can’t he see that??? you explain to josh that the baby doesn’t need comfort she’s just hungry! as soon as josh hands you the little baby and you begin feeding her josh is rendered speechless and goes on and on about how amazing your body is and how beautiful it is that you can provide for her the way you do. josh is so happy to be cuddled with you and your baby in bed, all his worries wash away. eventually, you’ll have to have a conversation with him to ensure that he’s the best father he can be, and the baby loves him so much, but for now your content to be cuddled up in bed with your two favorite people. -🦦

Okay so he’s a soft Josh thought. But this time it’s a Dad Josh thought hehehe.

dad to be josh coming for you! once you’re pregnant, josh is very protective of you. not in a cringe way, more of a hover kind of protectiveness. in a way, he has a tendency to panic at little things. one day you’re hanging out with the boys, and you notice your baby is kicking quite a bit but josh isn’t sitting next to you, jake is. so you reach over and softly grab jakes arm and place his palm on your belly. jake immediately gives josh a look to make sure josh doesn’t mind and josh smiles and nods his head as if he’s saying “go on” and of course as soon as jakes hand is on your belly the baby stops kicking! and jake is so visibly disappointed, you lightly jab your belly with your fingertips a few times to try and encourage the baby to kick. of course as soon as you do this all of the boys gasp so josh whips his head around to see what’s going on and jake doesn’t even have time to remove his hand before josh says “what are you doing to my baby!?!” and jake can’t even answer through his watery eyes and ear to ear smile because he can feel the soft fluttering of your baby kicking the palm of his hand. all of the boys stare in awe at jakes reaction. not that you or josh notice this, but from now on all the boys quietly argue with each other over who is going to sit next to you because they too want to get a feel of your baby kick. -🦦
