- Timeless by MarvelousKatie is one of the first KC stories I ever read and probably the one that made me feel like writing some myself. Iâve gone back to read it again and itâs still incredible!Â
- Wild Hearts by @itsnotacrimetoloveyou Iâm currently obsessed with this story but itâs not complete yet. I got a few spoilery details of whatâs to come ahead and I will gladly accept all the support I can get to pressure her into writing moar!! lol Itâs an amazing story and this is all in good faith! Luizaâs writing is SO powerful and it evokes such feelings and creates such an atmosphere that you get immediately sucked into the stories. I love her Klaus voice, itâs wicked and sexy at the same time, reminds me of the good olâ Klaus of TVD season 3.
- Whisper To Me, Help Me Remember by @lalainajanes is definitely, definitely among my favorite things ever. Her writing is absolutely amazing and this story is rewriting of sorts of TO season 3, my LEAST favorite season of TO (thatâs saying a lot considering I canât say I even have a favorite season) and it proves that the dumb plot of the creepy siblings and The Strix couldâve been done write (again, if they had Caroline shipper over to NOLA lol). Also, the villains are SO much better here!Â
- Honestly, just hit anything by @cupcakemolotov and itâs a sure hit, but the Come Alive collection is my favorite go-to when I want to read some great one-shots. Itâs fantastic writing, always IC, and I think most of the stories here (if not all of them) are canon compliant or at least written in the same sort of supernatural universe, which I love!
- Public Nuisance by @thetourguidebarbie I love love love LOVE this story! It is SO much fun! Itâs an AH/AU, filled with witty banter and sweet moments and the kind of lighthearted that warms your heart. Reminds me of the best kind of rom com, and I LOVE rom coms! Angelikahâs writing is spectacular in every possible way. She also has a HP AU that blew my mind âcause Iâm that person whoâs always hated HP AUs - until I read hers. Even though Public Nuisance is a total AU, she manages to capture the charactersâ voice SO perfectly. I love her Caroline! <3Â
- Cursed Obsession by @supremeuppityone I just recently finished this one and it was SO amazing! Itâs plotty, full of twists, such smart writing! Itâs an AU, but it makes so many references to stuff we know from canon. The sexy KC times here are definitely a +! I loved this story so much I left a bunch of silly comments all over it as I was binge-reading it. lolÂ
- @sunshineandfangsâ recently wrote a BUNCH of stories for a KC event and I read all of them and loved them all to bits! Seriously, sheâs like a writing machine. The amount of ridiculously great one-shots she can write is a phenomenon. Her stories are so different, but she somehow manages to capture the essence of what I personally think KC should be like in every single one of them, putting them in the most varied range of situations. Some are canon compliant, some are not, some are total AUs, some are sweet, some are darker... Doesnât matter. Itâs all brilliant. (I hope Iâm linking this right âcause Iâm dumb.)
- Inertia Overcome by avari20 is a masterpiece! I think this was THE very first KC fanfiction I ever read, years and years ago, long before I ever planned on writing KC fic and it stuck with me. Itâs amazing! And I just NOW realized there are parts 2 and 3???? Holy shit!
Ok, I realize this is not a very long list at all, but I kind of have to go out now. And in any case, literally ANYTHING by any of the authors I mentioned is certain to be a good read! You might not like the theme of some of the stories I listed, but trust me, the writing is on point! So just hit their lists and Iâm sure youâll find something thatâs more your cup of tea. Also, a thing that I do sometimes is I go to my favorite writersâ bookmarks and see what theyâre reading. Never fails!Â
Iâve read several of their works and itâs all amazing. There are so many talented writers in this fandom, and Iâm sorry if I forgot to mention anyone in particular âcause Iâm in a bit of a hurry, so Iâm definitely forgetting my own favorites!
