The King is dead long live the King!
The above is one of those Dada-isms that so opened our literaryĀ possibility'sĀ and thought - it means the King is dead but the need for it, himĀ lives on. God is dead, long live God - likewise used by some toĀ exemplifyĀ the double negative of anti theism.' What is it youĀ don'tĀ believe ? why God !' thusĀ provingĀ to unbelievers theĀ existenceĀ ofĀ God. This argument only survives on the basis of Ā wishfulĀ thinking - faith and a term knowingness, none of which constitutesĀ proof. I was with aĀ groupĀ of friends who I suspect all believe,Ā although sometimes phrased as ' my higher power ' and a man caused aĀ rippleĀ of amusedĀ approvalĀ among the assembly by sayingĀ "godĀ made me anĀ AtheistĀ " . TheĀ trueĀ meaning of this statementĀ isĀ simple irony and if it were true disclosing the God entity as a fool which if oneĀ looksĀ at the absurdity of life would onlyĀ reinforceĀ this opinion and perhaps redefine a more profane statement ; GodĀ is a fool long live God.
