As promised a review of the NECA figures Kratos from the newest God of War game. NECA brought there A game with this bad boy, for better or for worse. Let me start with the accessories, Kratos is decked out with his Leviathan Axe, his knife, (significance in the story but I’ll say no more) and his new spiffy shield, all three can be stored on the figure, the Axe can split in the handle so you can fit it in his hand and store it on his back, and his left arm has a hidden slot that can be removed and replaced with the shield. Let’s start with the good about this figure. He looks fantastic, NECA outdid themselves with the sculpt and paint, really giving the good old Dad a skin tone that looks like it’s covered in ash, like, you can see his skin under the ash, that’s what I’m trying to say. He’s also SUPER possible, like this guy can move, no ab crunch but that’s okay. There’s not a lot to complain about this guy, but I’m gonna be a bit picky here. Hands. He has no extra hands, and I may just be spoiled by Japanese figures but man, he really needs a second holding hand and an extra fist and I can’t stress open hands enough, they did it with the Street Fighter 4 figures, why not here. Also he needs a yelling face, they managed to get the calm anger perfectly, but how can I make my spartan go ape shit without a shouting face! Another small nitpick is that he doesn’t include a retracted shield to place on his arm as seen in the game. An amazing figure that you can’t go wrong with though, but if you do buy him, get a NECA stand. He deserves it. My only hope is an Atreus figure that’ll complete him with those missing parts I described, that’s always a possibility.
