This is for @xx-thedarklord-xx I know your asks are probably filled to the brim with Drarry raising Scorpius stuff but! I am not feeling well right now and itâs kind of gloomy outside so it made this idea sprout in my head and itâs WAY too long for an ask.
Draco refuses to move out of Malfoy Manor after his parents pass away. He absolutely refuses to let Voldemort steal all the happy memories he had in that house as a child. Itâs painful at first and Harry is against it which doesnât help, but Draco is determined. After really seeing how important it is to Draco, Harry starts making more of an effort. They manage to turn Malfoy Manor into a home again.
Scorpius coming along makes it even better. Heâs rambunctious and happy and loves chasing his daddies through the Manor.
The only thing Scorpius dislikes about the Manor is all the windows. It makes thunderstorms super scary before the lightning lights up the whole house. It petrifies him even though heâs seven and his daddies both tell him heâs a very brave boy!
One night, however, there is a particularly bad thunderstorm. The rain is beating against the windows and the lightning is illuminating the rooms. Scorpius tries his best to be a big boy. Honest. Until the thunder gets so loud it sounds like a whole pride of lions are roaring on their roof and it makes him cry.
Scorpius runs to his daddiesâ room and practically nosedives into their bed, burrowing his face into whichever parent he landed on.
Itâs Draco, of course, who admittedly canât sleep either. He grew up afraid of thunderstorms at Malfoy Manor too. He wraps a protective arm around Scorpius and plants kisses on top of his little blonde curls. He nudges Harry awake with his free hand because his husband can apparently sleep through anything.
âSeems we have a late night visitor,â Harry muses. He fumbles behind himfot his glasses and slips them on so he can see Scorpius more clearly.
âI hate thunderstorms!â Scorpius cries with a level of petulance that would have given eleven year old Draco a run for his money.
âItâs just a storm, sweetheart. Itâll be over before you know it.â Draco says it with the same level of confidence his mother used to have when she told him the same thing. He could only hope it was just as comforting.
âBut when, Daddy?â Scorpius whines and Harry canât help but snicker. There was definitely no denying that Scorpius was Dracoâs âmini me.â
âItâll be over by the time you wake up,â Harry says with a yawn, snuggling back down into the mattress.
âBut I havenât fallen back asleep yet!â Scorpius throws himself back against the pillows dramatically as if Harry had somehow forgotten they were all awake.
âThen have daddy sing you a song. Itâll put us all to sleep and when we wake up, the storm will be over.â
âDraco, our son doubts me, youâll have to back me up here, love. My reputation is at stake.â
âInsufferable git,â Draco mutters under his breath but nonetheless he allows Harry to shuffle closer to him and Scorpius. He doesnât pull away when Harry encompasses the two of them in his arms and he still smiles when Harry plants a kiss on his forehead, then Scorpiusâ. Once theyâre all comfortable, curled up safe and secure under the blankets, Draco begins to sing a lullaby his mother used to send to him, his voice strong and sure, and somehow louder than the thunder.
Before long, Scorpius is sound asleep, sandwiched between his daddies. Safe. Loved. Happy. All thoughts of the storm outside washed away by sweet dreams.
