Okay, so today's supposed to be a â¨ď¸rest dayâ¨ď¸ but now Jesse as a dad is. Living rent free in my brain.
This is solely the fault of @the-bad-batch-baroness
Jesse has two kids with his wife. One, is a biological son, and the other is a 5 year old Chiss girl they adopted.
He's an excellent dad, very hands-on. But he was a little hesitant about introducing his kids to his brothers. ("They're so little and fragile, what if my brothers make them sick-")
His wife is the one who encouraged him to bring the kids to meet their uncles. By inviting Kix to the house.
After that, there's always at least one vod'e at the house trying to play with the older daughter or cuddle with the baby.
The baby is added to the baby sitting rotation, but the older girl likes to follow Jesse to the gym and tries to mimic his work out routine. (He ends up working with Kix, making a "work out" routine for her that won't hurt her).
Jesse likes to claim that he's a better member of the 501st because he has a blue kid, and that was the wrong thing to say because after that the little Chiss girl painted all of the babies blue.

The whole dad!batch taking their respective little ones out together camping, sitting around a fire roasting food while they listen to their kiddos laughing and running around the camp-site around them. Hunter periodically telling them not to go to far, Tech telling his little ones about all the plants in the area they shouldn't touch, wrecker and his brood setting up the tents, echo and his mini bringing over supplies from the ship, all of the kids yelling and asking to take turns on sitting on Crosshair's shoulders because he's so tall.

What would have been a peaceful night in the solitary woods was now chaos as voices and laughter bounced off of the towering Alderaanian trees. Wood scraped and thunked as it was chopped. Water from the nearby lake splashed when stones were picked and tossed, bouncing atop the clear, starry surface.
Hunter stood right on the edge of the lakeshore, water lapping against his boots as he looked over the water. With his arms crossed over his chest, his brows pinched with a tension he didn't even realize, he was lost in his train of thought.Â
A small tug on his coat caused him to blink, eyes flicking down at his side.
The tension faded, replaced by a faint smile as his little son peered up at him with big brown eyes. He held up a stone and smiled when Hunter chuckled.
"You sure this one will work, Kai?" He asked, scooping up the two-year-old boy in his arms.Â
Kai nodded, his small voice murmuring shyly, "Flat, papa. Throw."
He wasn't old enough to form sentences yet and Hunter secretly wished he'd never really get there. The little toddler speech, single words that meant so much, was honestly too endearing to really let go of. No more baby talk meant little Kai wasn't going to be little much longer.
But Hunter didn't want to think about that right now. So long as he could hold his son in his arms, heâd soak up every moment they had together.Â
Stone in hand, Hunter faced the lake and reared back his arm. On his hip, little Kai shyly peaked over his arm, clinging to his father. When the rock flung out of Hunterâs hand, he held onto his adi'ka and watched with shared attention as Kaiâs preciously provided stone bounced seven times before sinking.Â
Hunter bounced the boy on his hip with a soft cheer, causing his shy toddler to giggle and duck his head against his shoulder. Smiling from ear to ear, Kai finally looked up when Hunter kissed his forehead. His cheeks were pink as he reached out to touch Hunter's tattooed cheek. With a tilt of his head, Hunter pretended to bite Kaiâs palm, earning a loud, shrieking giggle that so rarely fell from his little boyâs lips.Â
With a quick kiss to Kaiâs forehead, Hunter lowered the boy to his feet and pat his bottom with a playful tap, nudging him toward camp.Â
âGo on, scout. Itâs getting late and you wanted some sâmores, right?â
Kai looked up and nodded, offering his hand for Hunter to grasp.
âTea, too."Â Â Â
   Hunter chuckled, nodding.Â
âIâll get you your tea, son.âÂ

Lyra liked exploring.Â
For an eleven-month-old baby, she did a lot of crawling and searching, turning over rocks and tugging on flowers. Being too small to walk on her own, she needed help to keep herself upright. With her large hands clenching her fatherâs two fingers, she waddled from side to side in her denim jumpsuit and red booties.Â
Tech hovered over her, cautiously following her as she guided him around the campsite. Lyra babbled and squealed, wordless yet emotive with every single little flower and bug that caught her eye.Â
And Tech was there to explain it all.Â
âEh?â Lyra sang in a questioning tone, crouching and pointing at a stone.Â
Tech crouched by her, holding her upright with a hand on her hip while using the other to tilt the rock over. The two hunched closer to the ground, ears pressing together as Tech gestured to the various bugs. âThat is a millipede and this is a grub.âÂ
She babbled and sputtered, and Tech nodded as if he understood. âYes, and this is a poisonous centipede so we donât want to be making physical contact with that one, ladybug.âÂ
Lyra looked him dead in the eye before turning and stretching, reaching her little finger toward the centipede that Tech just warned her about. He sighed, tugging his troublemaker backward by the straps of her overalls. She looked up at him with an innocent smile and he shook his head, chuckling at her impulsive nature.Â
Lyra grasped his fingers as best as she could and pulled him along, waddling and tripping only for Tech to save her with gentle swings, raising her legs up and down. With little light left in the sky, he wanted to give her enough time to explore and tire herself out â it was the most reasonable plan to give her the chance to sleep throughout the night without waking him up every so often.Â
She pulled him to a patch of purple flowers and, like before, crouched down to get a better look. Tech kneeled beside her, picking one up to hold to her eye level.Â
âThese are wild lavender,â he explained. âThey have a very aromatic fragrance. here, smell it, Lyra.â
When all that she did was blink at him, Tech decided to demonstrate by lifting the flower to his nose. He sniffed it and smiled when his baby girl giggled. Tilting it her way, she placed her hand on his chest to keep herself steady and leaned, sniffing the plant with her little nose.Â
Suddenly, in unison, the two scrunched their noses and sneezed at the same time.Â
Lyra fell against him in a fit of baby giggles, laughing even harder and louder at the second, third, and fourth sneezes that barrelled their way through Techâs system. He huffed, sniffling and scrunching his nose from the outburst. With wide eyes, he looked at his laughing ladybug and furrowed his brows.Â
"Odd," he hummed, âIt seems we both have an allergic reaction to wild lavender. Perhaps it is best if we return to the campsite and inspect Wrecker and Oliveâs progress with the tents. Alright, ladybug?âÂ
She babbled and turned to flee when Tech scooped her up, bringing her up in his arms. Lyra whined and kicked her legs in defiance but he just chuckled, pressing his mouth against her neck to blow raspberries. Her giggles were so cute, he couldnât help but press a kiss to her temple, smiling when she placed both palms on his cheeks and began to pinch and tug.
Tech just sighed, allowing her to pull and pinch his cheeks and nose as much as she pleased.

âYou sure you can do it?âÂ
   âI can do it, dad.âÂ
âMâkay⌠just sayinâ, cause if you canât then thatâs ok-âÂ
Olive sighed, glancing at Wrecker with furrowed brows. âDad, I can do it.âÂ
He held his hands up in surrender. âAlright alright. Give it a shot then, kid.âÂ
Lifting the hammer above the tent spike, Olive gave a few testing swings toward the spikeâs head before bringing it down. Her accurate hit sent the spike straight into the soil, causing her to smile and look up at Wrecker with a victorious grin.Â
âSee,â the ten-year-old sang teasingly. âI told you. Iâm just as strong as you, daddy. Iâm even stronger.âÂ
Wrecker arched a brow, his smile slowly curling into a challenging grin.Â
   âOh yeah?âÂ
Olive gasped and dropped her hammer, screeching when Wrecker picked her up and turned her upside down. With his grip on her ankle, he effortlessly held her a few inches off the ground, giving her enough space to keep her palms to the dirt.Â
   âDAD, LET ME DOWN!âÂ
âTake it back,â he shrugged as if it was a simple answer.Â
Olive huffed, crossing her arms over her chest with a defiant smirk. âNo! Now put me down!âÂ
Wrecker gave a deep and loud belly-laugh. âNo. Now take it back before you start gettinâ woozy, kid.âÂ
Just as she began to writhe and wriggle like a worm on a hook, Tech came around the tent corner with Lyra cradled snugly in his arms. He paused in his tracks, staring in confusion at the sight of Wrecker dangling his daughter upside down by her ankle.Â
âWhat are you doing?â Tech asked, glancing at the poorly fashioned row of family-sized tents. âIs this what youâve been doing for the past hour?âÂ
âHey, Uncle Tech,â Olive grinned, waving.Â
âHello, Olive Oil,â Tech responded plainly, his nickname causing Wrecker to bark out a laugh. âMay I ask what you are currently doing?âÂ
   Olive smirked.Â
   âJust hanging.âÂ
Wrecker proudly cheered, lowering his hand down for Olive to give it a hearty slap. âHaha, thatâs my girl!â
Tech shook his head, pinching the bridge of his nose. Lyra watched him with a peculiar gaze and slapped her tiny hand from his face, giving his nose a sympathetic pat. Tech gave her an odd look before realizing why she seemed so concerned. âOh no, ladybug, Iâm not injuring myself-âÂ
âUncle Tech?â Olive called as she dangled. âCan you tell dad with really smart words that Iâm stronger than him?âÂ
Tech pushed up his goggles up the bridge of his nose, making Lyra giggle and babble. âShall I tell the truth or offer a fabrication?"
âFabrication the heck out of it.âÂ
âThen yes,â Tech pointedly muttered, shaking his head. âYou are somewhat stronger than your father, Olive. Now Wrecker, would you please put your offspring down so that she may watch Lyra? I refuse to let my daughter sleep in a haphazard contraption like the one youâve just made.âÂ
Wrecker frowned. âIf you wanted a mansion, then why donât you do it, Tech?âÂ
âFine,â Tech shrugged, nonchalantly turning around to find his baby carrier, leaving Wrecker and Olive back to their previous dilemma.Â
   âHey, daddy?âÂ
Wrecker glanced down at Olive. âYeah, squirt?âÂ
âI give up,â she whined. âYouâre stronger than me. Now can you put me down? I think Iâm gonna throwed up.âÂ
   âShoot, right. Sorry.âÂ

Echo stared up into the Marauder with his hand on his hip, scomp arm tapping impatiently against the edge of the ramp. He waited while deafening clatters echoed from the shipâs interior, followed by mischievous giggles and hushes.Â
âQuinn?â Echo called gruffly, furrowing his brows in frustration. âSky? Are you two doing what I asked you to do or are you messing around again?âÂ
âWeâre still looking for the marshmallow sticks, dad!âÂ
   âQuinn found some cool blasters-âÂ
Echo paled. âN-no! How did you- that locker was locked-!â Â
âEcho,â Tech called as he walked up to the ship, âAre the twins inside?âÂ
With reluctance, he nodded. âI sent them to get the marshmallow sticks twenty minutes ago and they havenât come out yet.âÂ
âAnd you didnât consider checking on them?âÂ
âI was setting up the campfire!âÂ
Tech glanced down when Lyra babbled and offered his finger with a wiggle. She grabbed it with eager hands, chewing with teething gums while he nonchalantly peered up into the Marauder. His ship. If Echoâs troublemakers were in there alone, he could understand Echoâs reluctance to go inside. Anything couldâve been hiding beyond the doorway from a prank to a total mess.Â
âSky? Quinn?â He called, his tone tilting towards a warning. âYou are aware that you are on my ship, correct? If I go up there and find something I will not like, you better believe that I will lock you in the storage compartment for the entire trip home.âÂ
Panicked shuffles echoed before two heads popped out from around the corner. Sky giggled, nervously chewing on his nails. Quinn gave his father a grin.Â
At that moment, the two looked far too identical to him and Fives in their early days.Â
âWe have a surprise for you,â Sky sang.Â
Echo immediately groaned, placing his hands on his face. âSky-âÂ
âItâs not bad, buir,â Quinn assured, sharing a smile with his brother. âWe promise. right, Sky?âÂ
   âRight, Quinn.âÂ
Lyra squealed while Tech and Echo both shared an unconvinced look.Â
   âTa-da!â
The two jumped out from behind the doorway, holding up Echoâs scomp tool case. Under normal conditions, it wouldâve been charcoal gray and cleaner than a freshly bathed newborn. Now, it was painted blue and covered in stickers of stars and old republic symbols. They even drew a stick figure of their entire family: cousins and spouses included.Â
Echo slowly lowered his hand from his face, arching his brows with an impressed smile.Â
âYou got into the paint and did that in twenty minutes?âÂ
The 12-year-olds both nodded in unison.Â
   âYup-yup.âÂ
   âYeah!âÂ
He cocked his head, smiling. âNot bad. Fives and I wouldâve done it in ten.âÂ
Quinn rocked his head back, groaning while he retreated back into the ship. Sky placed his hands on his hips, raised his nose in the air, and smartly chided, âWe got it, dad. Weâll surprise you someday.âÂ
Echo crossed his arms, huffing a chuckle. âI doubt it. Now can you please find the marshmallow sticks and lanterns before we start making sâmores at bedtime?âÂ
   âThatâs the best time!âÂ
   âYeah, dad, the best!âÂ
Twigs crunched as Hunter approached the ship, holding sleepy Kaiâs small hand. When he saw the collection of fathers standing at the foot of the ramp, he pinched his brows in suspicion and tilted his head to peek into the ship.Â
   âThe twins?âÂ
   âUnfortunately, yes.âÂ
   âYeah.âÂ
Hunter nodded, âHuh. Well, could they give me Kaiâs headphones and blanket?âÂ
âI need Lyraâs carrier as well,â Tech added.Â
As if telepathic, the twins stuck their heads out at the same time and said, âComing right up!âÂ
Not a moment later, Quinn came running down the ramp with Lyraâs carrier in hand while Sky followed a bit slower, careful to keep himself from tripping on his newly healed ankle. Echo took the headphones and blankets out of Skyâs arms and handed them to Hunter, giving Sky a slightly subtle look of warning when he frowned.Â
âMy ankleâs not broken anymore, buir,â he muttered, too embarrassed to talk about his injury. âItâs fine.âÂ
âSure it is, but I donât want you to get hurt again.â Echo placed his hand on Sky's head, giving him a small smile while brushing his unkempt hair out of his face. âWe canât both be accident-prone.âÂ
A deafening thunk echoed from within the ship and the two turned, glancing up as Quinn slowly stumbled into the Marauderâs doorway. His hair was sticking up in all directions, clothes disheveled as if he just braved a storm.
On one hand, he had his fist clenched around a copious amount of metal marshmallow sticks.Â
On the other, it seemed he had also managed to lose a tooth in the process, causing him to grin widely. Â
   âItâs a HUGE one, dad!âÂ
Sky looked up at his father with a snarky grin.Â
âLooks like weâre all accident-prone like you, dad.âÂ
Echo just palmed his face and sighed.Â
âQuinn, come here and let me see which one got knocked outâŚâÂ
-
âIs this a good stick, daddy?âÂ
Zion held up a thin little piece, big eyes honing on his father like two beams of pure pressure. His gray-haired mini looked so hopeful that Crosshair had no choice but to nod his head in approval and take it, adding it to the pile under his arm. âYup, thatâs a good stick.âÂ
He felt a tug on his jacket and glanced down at the little girl on his opposite side.Â
âHow âbout this, daddy?â She asked with a soft voice, causing Crosshairâs heart to swell. Little Zoya held up her own twig with a hopeful gaze and Crosshair nodded yet again, finding it impossibly hard to deny her. He added it to the wood pile before continuing toward their campsite, glancing left and right to keep an eye on his six-year-old twins.Â
They toddled along beside him like sheep flanking a wolf, gleeful grins and smiles on their faces while crosshair had his typical deadpan stare. While he carried the wood in his arms, Zion and Zoya did their best to contribute, helping their father like perfect little gray-haired soldiers. Zoya added twigs and sticks while Zion just looked around, gazing over nature like he was truly soaking it all in.Â
âDaddy, I'm tired,â Zoya whined, pausing by a boulder to rub her knees. âMy feets hurt.âÂ
Crosshair stopped walking, arching his brow at her. âYou donât want to walk anymore?âÂ
She shook her head and he nodded in understanding. Lowering the wood to the floor, Crosshair crouched and offered his back for Zoya to climb up. Jumping on him with a giggle, she dangled her legs over his shoulder and placed her chin on his head before he picked up the wood and stood.Â
Zoya yelped when she saw how high up off the ground she was. glancing over at Zion, she called his name loudly, âZion! Look! Iâm a giant like daddy.âÂ
Crosshair rolled his eyes muttering under his breath, âIâm not like the trees, adiâka. Iâm average⌠maybe a bit above⌠actually, pretty above if weâre talking about Hunter, too.âÂ
Zoya giggled softly, her angelic voice causing him to huff a chuckle.Â
   âUncle Hunter is small.âÂ
âOh yes, he is,â Crosshair smirked, âAnd if he asks you where you heard that, what are you going to tell him?âÂ
   âThat baâvodu Wrecker told me.âÂ
Crosshair smirked, nodding his head. âAtta girl.âÂ
When he heard nothing but silence from his son, Crosshair glanced at Zion as he graced his hand across the flowers and stopped to smell the wild lavender.Â
âYou ok, kid?â He asked, arching his brows when Zion looked at him. The grey-haired boy nodded and they shared a small smile.Â
âI want marshmallows,â he chirped, causing Zoya to gasp from atop Crosshairâs shoulders.Â
   âMe too!âÂ
   Crosshair nodded. âOkay. Anything else?âÂ
âAnd hot chocolate?â She questioned curiously, making Crosshairâs eyes narrow. The moment he looked over and saw Zionâs hopeful eyes, he caved in. Manipulators. âFine. Just a bit.âÂ
   âAnd cuddles tonight?âÂ
   âOf course.âÂ
âAnd cinnamon squares for breakfast tomorrow?âÂ
   âNope, not that one.â
   âPlea-a-a-ase?âÂ
Crosshair grimaced, sighing, âFIne, but thatâs it.âÂ
   Zoya hummed. âMaybe⌠story time tonight?âÂ
At this, Zion was by his side in the blink of an eye, clutching Crosshairâs sweater while begging, âPle-a-a-ase read us The Tiny Tooka tonight.â
âI read you that all the time,â Crosshair muttered. âYou need to find a new favorite. That oneâs lost its charm.âÂ
âPlea-a-a-a-ase?â They both wined, big eyes from both Zion and Zoya.Â
   With a sigh, Crosshair surrendered.Â
   âFIne⌠but only this onceâŚâÂ

âRAHHH FOR THE REPUBLIC!â
Olive roared and fired her finger guns at Quinn and Sky before sheathing them on her hips. She turned on her heel and ran, sprinting around the circle of logs surrounding the blazing fire. Sky yodeled out a battle cry as he sprinted after his cousin, leaving Quinn to hobble after them while gasping from laughing too hard.Â
Echo sat on a log, watching his twins play in the light of the campfire with a faint smile. Memories atop memories flooded his mind when theyâd play like this, reminding him of days gone by.Â
Beside him sat Tech, cradling a swaddled and sleeping Lyra in his arms. She was out like a snuffed light, snoozing in the comfort of being bound by Techâs own specific wrapping method. She had a little beanie on her head to keep her warm and ear muffs covering her blanketed ears, earning a few endearing looks when he sat down by the fire. He spent a decent amount of time gazing down at her, lovingly tracing his fingertip along her sleeping face while making sure she wasnât cold.Â
On the other log sat Hunter and Wrecker. While Wrecker kept an eye out on Olive and Echoâs twins, Hunter held Kai on his lap, keeping his son warm in his own coat. Kai had his sensory headphones and blanket on his lap, leaning his head against Hunterâs chest as he calmly and silently looked into the fire. He was such a quiet little soul that Hunter often wished to see him running around and having fun, but he wouldnât push it. He enjoyed holding his boy so close to him, especially if kai was in the range of forehead kisses.
The final member of the squad returned to the campfire a bit later than the rest. Crosshair approached with a pile of sticks under his arm and Zoya perched on his shoulders. Zion skipped alongside him with a smile, adding his own tiny pile atop the reserved wood.Â
Crosshair sat down on a lone log with a sigh, gently dipping his head so that Zoya could slide off his shoulders and into his arms. He set her down beside him while Zion climbed up, the two of them snuggling against Crosshairâs sides with synchronized hums of comfort. He opened his jacket so that they could get in on the warmth, causing his jaw to clench when he felt their cold hands tickle his abdomen. They fell silent, peacefully enjoying the quiet while Quinn, Sky, and Olive all continued running around.Â
âI donât get it,â Echo muttered, breaking the silence. âOut of all of you, I get the ones that canât sit still or stay quiet for one minute.âÂ
As if on cue, Quinn sprinted behind him with blurring speed, running from Olive while she yodeled her own battle cry and chased after him.
Echo sighed, shaking his head.Â
âPoint proven,â Tech muttered, distracted by his little Lyra as she squeaked out a yawn. He was so in love with his little baby that he was oblivious to his brothersâ stares until he glanced up, his smile falling from his lips. âWhat?âÂ
   Wrecker slowly grinned. âSoftie.âÂ
âOf course. A child needs a parent with a soft, nurturing nature over an abrasive one.âÂ
âHe means youâre like Crosshair,â Hunter chimed in, smirking when Crosshair glared at him. âSoft like butter.âÂ
âI like butter,â Zoya muttered from the shelter of his coat. Crosshair cracked a smile and reached down, curling her gray hair behind her ear.Â
   âI bet you do, sweetheart.â
Zion leaned his head close, smirking. âI donât.â
He pat his boyâs head, eyes crinkling with fatherly amusement. It was his turn to look up, his smile dropping when he saw the knowing looks on his brothersâ faces.
âShut it.âÂ
Hunter glanced down when Kai shuffled around on his lap. His adiâka glanced up at him with tired eyes before looking back at the fire, sighing gently. Glancing toward Echo and Wrecker, Hunter nudged his chin towards the three eldest kids and said, âThey should head back now before it gets too late and cold for s'mores. The littles have to check out soon.âÂ
Wrecker nodded. Cupping his mouth, he sucked a big breath in and shouted, âTROOPERS! BACK TO BASE IN 3âŚ2âŚ1-â
Quinn came sprinting out of the shadows only to slide across the log and crash into Echoâs side. His father exhaled a sharp breath just to be hit again when Sky did the same thing, sliding and barrelling straight into Echo. They giggled when he rubbed his sides with a wince.
Olive approached a bit later with her arms full of blankets. She handed them out to Crosshair and the twins, Hunter, then for herself and Wrecker when Tech and the others denied her offer. Throwing the sheet over her head, she snuggled into Wreckerâs side and smiled happily when he threw an arm over her shoulders, pulling her in close.Â
Echo extended an arm behind him, grabbing the bag of sâmores ingredients and campfire sticks. They were tossed around one by one and by the end of the dispersion, each older child had a marshmallow hanging over the fire. Kai wanted to try it himself but he didnât like having to blow out his flaming marshmallow, so with his blanket in hand, he wandered over to Olive and climbed in his cousinâs lap. She accepted him with a grin, whispering jokes in his ear as she roasted both of their marshmallows.Â
Hunter and Wrecker watched them with a smile, catching a bit of Omega within Oliveâs caring nature. Hunterâs heart clenched a bit at the fact that she wasnât there but he couldnât blame her. Omega had her own life to live, bouncing from planet to planet in her new starship. While they were hunkered down with the littles, she was off exploring and trekking the vast stretches of space.
As he thought of her, he heard a little gray-haired mini come wandering up to him. Little hands climbed and kicked as Zion sat up on the log by Hunterâs side, resting his head against his baâvoduâs shoulder. Hunter opened his blanket up, allowing the boy to dive under with a giggle. He glanced at Crosshair who watched them with an arched brow, the two sharing an amused smile.Â
âI donât understand how youâre his favorite.âÂ
Hunter smirked, tapping his temple. âIntuition. At least we know he doesnât have your brain.âÂ
Crosshair rolled his eyes, causing Zoya to giggle. âVery funny.âÂ
Echoâs twins were energetic as they roasted their marshmallows until they were black. Quinn waved his marshmallow back and forth through the flame while Sky continuously kept pulling it out and inspecting it. The lumps were charred by the time both boys lowered their marshmallows on their crackers, grinning when their hands were covered in a goopy mess.Â
âThis is so yummy, dad,â Quinn groaned, holding up his burnt abomination. âWanna bite?âÂ
Echo grimaced, shaking his head. âNo, Iâm okay, bud.âÂ
   "Please?âÂ
Sighing, Echo gave in with a reluctant nod. He opened his mouth for Quinn to raise the sâmore to his lips. When he bit down, Quinn began laughing at the look on Echoâs face. Soot coated his tongue as he chewed, shaking his head.Â
   âYou burnt it.âÂ
   âDuh, thatâs the best part.âÂ
Sky pulled out his marshmallow and made his little sandwich before taking a bite. He smiled, glancing at Echo with hopeful eyes as he held his own sâmore out. Echo obliged, knowing he couldnât say no. While the sâmore was good, his lack of love for sweets won him over. He swallowed thickly and shivered, making both boys laugh.Â
Without a want or need to make sâmores, Tech continued cradling little Lyra, swaying her from side to side. He lifted his head, watching his brothers and his nephews and nieces, and came up with an idea.Â
âWrecker,â he called the storyteller, causing him and Olive to both look up at the same time. âWhy donât you tell them a story? Our first night is coming to an end and it would be best if the children had something to relax them before bed.âÂ
âOh-oh-oh!â Quinn jumped up, pretending to swing a sword. âTell us about that Wookie jedi you guys took to Kashyyyk!âÂ
âNo-o-o-o,â Sky sourly sang, reaching over to tug his brother back down onto the log. He turned to Crosshair and gave him a devious grin. âUncle Cross, tell that story about Uncle Cody and the mission you guys went on together when you were impies!âÂ
Crosshair scrunched his nose in distaste. âYouâre the only one who likes those stories, sky.âÂ
   âCause theyâre cool!âÂ
Olive nudged her dadâs side, causing him to look down at her and the boy in her lap. âWhat about the time when you had to fight baby Rancor? Or that story about that really creepy monster ship you were on when Auntie Omega was little?âÂ
Zoya whimpered, curling into Crosshairâs side. He frowned, lovingly cupping her cheek when she shivered. âThatâs a scary story, Olive," she murmured. "I donât like it.âÂ
Olive smiled. âThen weâll pick another one, bean.â
Kai shifted on her lap and looked up, cupping his mouth as he whispered in Oliveâs ear. Her eyes brightened and she looked from Hunter to Echo. âKai wants to hear the story about how you all saved Uncle Echo.âÂ
Zion gasped and sat up in excitement, glancing from Hunter to his father with a grin. Crosshair shrugged a shoulder, offering a small smile when his son jumped down and ran up to him, climbing onto his lap. Zoya instantly followed, seating herself on the other leg. As they snuggled into him and got comfortable, Kai went back to Hunter and held his hands up, gesturing to be picked up. Hunter obliged and brought the boy on his lap, letting Kaiâs little arms wrap around his waist while he pressed his cheek to Hunterâs chest.Â
Gently rocking Lyra from side to side, Tech held the baby in a careful hold and smiled when Sky leaned closer towards him, gazing down at Lyra with stars in his eyes. With a soft finger, Sky poked Lyraâs nose and giggled when she smiled in her sleep. Quinn leaned against Echoâs side, holding his fatherâs scomp arm in his lap as he absentmindedly scraped away the smudges of dust that stained the metal. Echo kissed his hairline before turning towards his brothers, shrugging, âFine with me.âÂ
The flickering flames of the campfire danced and swayed in the gentle breeze. The logs crackled and popped, sending showers of sparks up into the sky like tiny shooting stars. The warm glow of the fire cast shadows on the faces of the people gathered around it, their expressions illuminated in the orange light.
Wrecker grinned and scooted closer to the edge of the log, his arm squishing Olive into his side. Zoya and Zion both listened with smiles as they rested against Crosshairâs chest. Hiding under Hunterâs blanket, Kai removed his headphones to hear the story and the crackle of burning wood. Techâs little Lyra continued sleeping, causing her father to smile at her peaceful state. Echo, Quinn, and Sky shared smiles when their arms tightened around their father's waist â they all had very special reasons to love this story.Â
Clearing his throat, Wrecker held his arm out in a wide gesture and began his narration in a deep voice.Â

Summary: Leli is doing her part to help Rex and his brothers. She is prepping to leave for her next mission, and Echo is not happy about it. (I suck at summaries, sorry)
Content: mild jealousy. parenthood(?). Babies in general(?). Pre-established relationship.
A/N: Welcome, friends, to Max's self-indulgent fantasies. Seriowan's Dad!Clone content gave me brainrot and I have not been able to get Echo with twins out of my head. This is just some fluffy nonsense I started writing on a napkin at work the other day. Hope you enjoy! (credit for the twin's names goes to @seriowan. Thank you for letting me use them Nay!)

âI donât like this,â Echo said for the hundredth time that afternoon.
âYa know, Iâm starting to see why your brothers named you Echo,â Leli smirked, pulling the poncho Rex had given to her over her head. After all the missions sheâd done with Rex, she still did not understand the train of thought that led all clones to think that poncho = civilian.Â
Echo gave an unamused huff from where he sat in the corner of the boysâ room. She didnât have to look at him to know he was pouting. It was that same kicked tooka look that he wore when Fives had approached her at 79âs back when the world still felt normal. Seeing him from across the bar with that cute little pout on his face made Leliâs heart flutter in her chest, and although that night felt like a lifetime ago, something just never changed.
She finished adjusting her new ensemble before walking over and placing a gentle kiss to his forehead. She felt some of the tension ease beneath her touch, but she could tell he wasnât going to give this up anytime soon. She reached out to cradle his cheek in her hand, tilting his head up to place a chaste kiss on his lips. The kiss was far too short for Echoâs liking. When Leli pulled away he chased after her, but she stood up straight, a satisfied smirk dancing across her lips.Â
âRelax, will ya? Iâve run this sort of mission dozens of times,â Once the war had ended, Rex found himself short on allies. She had found him waiting for her outside of her apartment in the lower levels of Coruscant and had been helping him anyway she could ever since.Â
âThat doesnât mean I have to like it,â In fact, it made him dislike it even more, but he would never admit it.Â
âQuit worrying trooper, I can take care of myself,âÂ
âThatâs not what Iâm worried about,â He grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest. It wasnât a lie, not fully anyway. Leli wasnât a soldier, sure, but she had never been one to shy away from a fight, especially when it came to defending clones. It was one of the things Echo loved about her--the passionate way she defended him and his brothers touched him so deeply, but it had gotten her into more than her fair share of trouble over the years. Now, more than ever he was worried for her safety. If anything happened to her or the boys, he would never forgive himself. But something else about this mission just didnât sit well with him.Â
His eyes followed her as she moved about the room to continue prepping for tonight. She tucked the counterfeit chain codes Rex had given her into the pouch at her hip then made her way towards the two cribs that sat against the far wall of the room. Leli bent down and plucked one of the twins from his crib, cradling him gently against her chest. Based on all the fussing, he knew it must have been Sky.Â
Over the last few months, Echo had committed the twinsâ disparate mannerisms to memory. The events of the Citadel and his imprisonment at the hands of the Techno Union (as well as his own insecurity) had robbed him of the first year or so of their life and he was determined to make up for lost time. Quinn was typically calm, he rarely cried and went down for naps without a fight. Sky on the other hand was a menace.Â
He takes after Fives, Leli had joked the day that Echo had finally met the twins. Heâs always up to something.
At the time, Echo did not understand how an infant could be âup to somethingâ, but after the first week with the boys, he understood completely.Â
Once Sky had stopped fussing, Leli adjusted him so that he was settled on her hip. She smoothed her hand over the small tuft of curls on his head and pressed a kiss into his hairline. The sight made Echoâs heart melt. He stood up from his seat and made his way towards her.Â
âThe boys will be alright too,â She said, her tone more serious. âI would never let anything happen to them,âÂ
âI know that,âHe said softly, stepping closer to her. And he meant it. Leli had managed to take care of the boys on her own for so long. Echo knew that she was more than capable of keeping them safe.Â
Sky babbled happily on her hip, unaware of the conversation taking place between his parents, drool dribbling steadily down his chin. Before he could think better of it, Echo reached out his hand and wiped Sky's chin, then grimaced at the mess it had made of his glove. The look on his face made Leli snort. He wiped his hand on his blacks before smoothing her hair back behind her ear. Leli scrunched up her face at the residual dampness which made Echo let out a snort of his own.
âThen why are you so worried?â She questioned with a smile. Kriff, he loved that smile. Echo bristled.
âWho said I was worried?â He tried playing defense, but Leli was not having it.
âYou did, now spillâShe shifted her grasp on Sky and placed her now free hand on her hip. Echo knew there was no getting out of this one. The ex-ARC trooper sighed, bending down to pick up the neglected Quinn from his crib in an attempt to buy himself more time. The action was still a bit awkward as he tried to use his scomp as minimally as possible, but he was starting to get the hang of it.Â
He held Quinn against his chest the same way that Leli had and relished in the warmth of his son pressed up against him. He would never get tired of this feeling, even when the boys decided to spit up on him.Â
Leli tapped her foot impatiently, but couldnât help the smile that spread across her lips at the image before her. It was a sight she thought she would never get to see, a little different than she had imagined, sure, but it was still a sight she would treasure forever. Echo met her gaze sheepishly before turning his gaze back to Quinn with a heavy sigh.Â
âI just donât like this mission, alright?â Echo frowned. The mission itself was simple enough. They were essentially smuggling a deserter off world and into the outer rim where they would theoretically be beyond the reach of the Empire. It was a standard operation for Rex and his men, Echo knew that. But it was the way in which they were going about it that got under his skin.Â
Smuggling a single clone trooper onto an off-world transport was tricky. They were more likely to be recognized if they were traveling alone. A family however--
Echo scowled at the thought. He knew that the twins made Leli the perfect candidate for this role, but he still didnât like it. The thought of someone else cosying up next to her, even if it was one of his brothers, bothered him to no end.
A knowing grin split across Leliâs face as she watched Echo wrestle with his thoughts. She let out a bark of laughter that made him look up.Â
âAwww look Sky,â she cooed playfully. âBuirâs jealous.â
Heat crept up Echoâs neck and his cheeks dusted an adorable shade of pink that only added to Leliâs amusement. Echo sputtered a bit, desperately searching for a reply.Â
âAm not!â Was the best he could come up with.Â
âAre too,â Leli smirked, leaning in to press a kiss to his flushed cheek. âYouâre upset that I have to pretend to be someoneâs wife.â
She had hit the nail right on the head, but Echo was too proud to admit it.Â
âNo,â He said lamely, letting out an exasperated huff before trying another excuse. âI just donât like this mission. You sneaking onto a transport past imperial security with the boys.â
âTechnically Iâm not sneaking. I do have a boarding pass, ya know.â She said, her tone remained playful as she grinned at the flustered clone before her.
âThereâs too many variables. What if something goes wrong?â
âNothing is going to go wrong. And if it does, my husband will be there to protect me,â She teased. Echo scrunched his face at her use of the word husband. His face was so red he could've passed for an imperial guard. Leli let out another bark of laughter. The look on Echoâs face was priceless and she wished she could snap a holo of it for future reference.Â
âVery funny,â Echo rolled his eyes, lightly bouncing the baby in his arms. Quinn snoozed soundly against his fatherâs chest, completely unfazed by the events unfolding around him. In this moment, Echo envied his son.Â
âAw donât be like that Eck, Iâm only teasing you,â She purred, stepping close enough to rest her head on his shoulder. âAnd besides,â She placed a kiss at the base of his neck that made him shiver. âYouâre cute when youâre jealous.â
âYeah, yeah, yeah,â Echo grumbled, but he couldnât hide the smile that tugged at the corner of his lips. He rested his head against hers, drinking in the moment.Â
A beat of tender silence passed between them before he spoke again, voice barely above a whisper.
âI am worried, though.â He murmured against the top of her head.
âEverythingâs going to be fine, Echo. I promise.â She replied, pulling back to look into his beautiful deep brown eyes. âYouâll be there to watch my back, wonât you?â
âAlways, cyare.â His breath fanned against her face as he leaned down to capture her lips in a gentle kiss.Â
âGood,â She said once they had parted. She pressed a quick peck to his cheek and gave his butt a gentle tap. âNow, help me get your sons ready for tonight. Iâve got a husband to meet.âÂ
Fives doesn't actually want to name his kids Sixes, Sevens, and Eights, but he did make the suggestion because he wanted to see the look on their mothers face.
So let's talk about Echo as a Dad.
Echo ends up with a single baby girl named Mako, who is a whole 6 hours younger than Fives' triplets. Add to the fact that, aside from a few of her mother's features, Mako might as well be the triplets quad.
It becomes common enough for the vod'e in the 501st to ask who's watching the Quads.
Fives and Echo lean into it, after 3 months no one quite remembers which kid belongs to which parent (except for Rex who has been Dad to Echo and Fives for years at this point and he knows.)
Echo sometimes comes home with extra kids in the form of the triplets, sometimes he comes home without any kids, and one time he came home with one of the triplets and not his own kid.
It's a thing.
Luckily, his wife doesn't mind. After all, the triplets are half hers too.
First Dad!Wolffe & now Dad!Rex 𼚠both were both so well written & I canât help but think about all the clones being dads now (I hope this is something you could continue)
whoâs up next?
I was going to say Dad!Howzer with a small army of kids he adopted, but I think I'm actually going with Fives, because I had a hilarious idea.
So, Fives finds out he's going to be a dad, and he's like, "Yes! In your face vod'e!" Which vod'e? All of them.
And then he finds out that he's getting triplets. After all, he's a twin, and multiples run in families like that.
Anyway, he ends up with fraternal triplets boys. (He tries to name them Sixes, Sevens, and Eights, but their mother was like "Are you out of your damned mind?")
But the bigger thing is that Fives doesn't tell anyone other than Echo that he's having multiples. So he shows up with Babies A and B in a sling across his chest. And Baby C hanging from carrier across his back.
The babies wear blue, red, and yellow, respectively, and someone is always carrying a baby. If it's not Fives, then it's Echo. If it's not Echo, then it's Rex, or Jesse, or Kix-
Ahsoka get slapped with babysitting duty more often than she would like, but she takes the time to paint the babies nails and gossip with them.
Tup and Dogma also get stuck on babysitting duty a lot.
Fives once dumped all three babies on Anakin for an afternoon and returned 30 minutes later (He forgot his credit chit) and saw that Anakin was misidentifying the babies and dressing them in the wrong colors. So Fives assigned General Kenobi babysitting duties instead.
Obi-Wan freely offers his services as a babysitter after that, and often just shows up where the Triplets are to cuddle them. Much to Anakin's annoyance.
Fox once cuddled with one of the babies for five hours and had to be coaxed into releasing him.

The best dad. But also, largely, a single dad. (Mom travels for work, so she gets to be the fun parent.)
Soft and gentle, his kids biggest supporter and their number 1 advocate.
He's got two kids, a son and a daughter, born in that order.
Both of his kids grow their hair out like him, which means mornings are Tup does his hair, then his son's, and last his daughter's.
Trusts all of his brothers to babysit, though Dogma gets stuck on babysitting duty most often.
When he's not on shift, he can be found in his bunk with his kids cuddled against him, while he makes up stories for them...and any other kid who meanders their way into the room.
Tup is one of the only people on the ship who can consistently tell which kid is which. Though it doesn't stop him from taking home one of his brother's kids.
Could you imagine Fox as a dad now?? đ Howâd he be?
The love of my life as a dad? Let's see~
Fox is an amazing dad. I believe this to the bottom of my heart.
Him and Spouse (am I taking the chance to roll my PA AU into this, yes. Yes, I am) have 6 children. 3 biological, 3 adopted.
The bio kids are fraternal, boy/girl twins. And then they adopted a little miralukan boy from Coruscant, then a pair of twin cadets from Kamino, and the youngest hasn't been born yet.
Fox goes out of his way to make sure that his kids are happy in every way. Though he was a little annoyed when the Jedi tried to claim his miralukan son as theirs.
Guard kids are a little... weird. Just a little bit. They have innate gremlin tendencies, even the adopted ones, and Fox encourages this in them.
There is always a gaggle of guard children hanging around Fox. He's the person they go to when they want attention or help planning a prank or help getting revenge on a jedi who got them into trouble.
Fox's home is often home to several dozen children, and while he doesn't always remember all of their names, he's still very loved.
Guard kids don't go to the Jedi Creche. They're a bad influence on the Jedi kids... and on Master Yoda. So there's a Clone Creche in the old Corrie Barracks.
This Guard Creche is where the Guard kids learn things that the other Clone kids don't. (The Guard encorage them to become more feral).
Your dad!clones are slowly killing me. The baby fever was bad before but now⌠can I have a baby with can we see Howzer or Gregor?
Woo! Babies for everyone!
Let's see what I got for...Howzer!
So Howzer is dad shaped. He just is, I don't make the rules.
But he doesn't have any bio kids yet. Hasn't found the right partner.
That said, he does have 6 adopted children. Siblings who were going to be separated unless he did something.
They run the age range of 4-12, and he loves them all.
Eventually he leaves Ryloth, with the 6 twi'lek kids that he adopted, and everyone is thrilled. Him, the kids, his battalion.
The kids get dressed in teal, just like their dad's armor.
Howzer loves to spend time with his kids. He'll bring them to zoos and aquariums and amusement parks. Each day that they have an adventure, each kid gets to pick something to do. The older ones pick specific things that they want to see, while the little ones just want a toy or some ice cream.
Howzer loves the Creche Babysitting service. Especially since he pulled some strings and managed to slip his older kids into classes with similarly aged Jedi kids.
(The others with older kids thought that was the most genius thing ever, and soon enough the older clone kids were also in Jedi classes).
