Hades gets a daughter. Obviously. At first, I wanted to make her the daughter of our dear King of the Underworld and the Goddess Aphrodite - goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation, but now I’m not so sure. I feel like having her be the offspring of a human might create more dramatic tension with some of the other gods and generate an idea of ‘unworthiness’ that would have to be overcome. But on the other hand, Aphrodite would have to address the fact that she had an affair with Hades and the characters would have to deal with Aphrodite's jealous husband, Hephaestus, mean mugging the daughter. And Hades. But Olympia is probably pretty used to bastard childs - bastard children? - by now, so I don’t which scenario would be best for storytelling purposes. 

Either way, the daughter, whose name I think will be Dabria, will have been raised in the mortal realm, dumped in an orphanage by her mother, unbeknownst to Hades. She lives among the humans, not entirely sure what she is, but knowing she is not mortal from her overly long life. I think she’ll be about a thousand years old - so very old by human standards, but quite young by god standards. 

Dabria is a fan of dark humor, sarcasm, and stiff drinks. She prefers dark colors and a bit of feminine shimmer on occasion. She owns a hugely popular bar in New York City, but isn’t there all that often. Usually, she’s at the much grimier dive, ‘The Rabid Bastard;.,’ in the much less wealthy part of town. That place feels more like home - full of rough people, burning liquor, and dim lights. She’s spent most of her life working in or running establishments like this, at first making ends meet at inns - and yes, brothels - then owning them. Her employees are treated like family and extremely well taken care of. Dabria cannot stand when women are mistreated, largely due to her past, and will always step in to assist a gal in need. This, however, is also what draws the attention of the other gods and gets her in trouble.

One night, at Dabria’s swanky club, ‘The Megaleío,’ our main girl sees a man at the bar pestering one of her bartenders. As the bartender is trying to leave, this guy keeps bugging her and bugging her, ignoring the rebuffs. Dabria intervenes, digging her fingers into the man’s shoulder, telling him to leave. They two spat, ending with the drunk man trying to slap Dabria. She catches his hand and her powers set in motion. The man’s skin starts to burn and ache where their skin touch, pain spreading through him as Dabria’s glare bores into him. He is soon on his knees gasping for air. But she stops, knowing better than to kill him in a public place. He leaves, spouting obscenities in a fearful way.
