The camera then zooms in towards the edge of the sign once the group have moved into the frame. 

I found a few references for the scarecrow. I used the long coats in both Fig. 2 and Fig. 5 for the inspiration on my scarecrows coat although I lengthened it so that his legs would be barely visible as originally I couldn’t find any scarecrows with legs so I used this to my advantage so that my scarecrow would seem as though he didn’t have legs until his coat opened up. I also found two images (Fig.3 and Fig. 4) for reference on how to draw the traditional plague doctor’s mask.

Main Character References Here are two images I gained inspiration from for my Dorothy character. The first image I used to help create her goggles and the second image I found from Star Wars: Rogue One after searching for female heroines. I felt like this second image inspired me a lot for the creation of my main character as I wanted to create someone who stood out and yet blended in at the same time.

Here is my final Main Location design sheet. The faint centre line in the bridge would be the yellow line that lead the friends towards the emerald city. The cars are there to show that maybe the owners of them left in a hurry although I think there would be a lot more cars. The bridge is crumbling from years of decay and maybe even earthquakes. The futuristic city in the back is the haunted forest that Dorothy has to go through but I wanted to show it from further away to show how large and dense the "forest" is in my reimagined version. The idea of where the city is placed was inspired by New York.

After discovering that I'd done the 20 silhouette thumbnails wrong, I've redrawn them as I misunderstood the task. I've put in the first 6 thumbnails again just to show the follow on from them. I thought thumbnail 10 was interesting as if the doors could lead to different places and Dorothy had to find the right door to the emerald city. I also thought number 12 was also quite a unique sort of idea; as the books fall off the shelves, their contents comes to life (e.g: blood pooling out of a book or a monster forcing its way out of the pages). #17 was also quite an interesting idea as well. The idea that the group of friends have to get across the bridge while spears are being magically thrown down at them and they have to make it across without being injured. Number 20 was a bit of a strange one to come up with as the idea came from what I would think an acid trip would look like with bright colours and a swirling sky. It reminded me of "Alice in Wonderland" and how strange and wrong everything felt.

The first photo contains my 20 silhouette thumbnails of the main prop design for the Tin Man. At first I wanted to go with a chopping axe but then I decided to start drawing some that work battle axes and even executioner axes (Fig. 10). I decided to draw some blocky with hard-ish edges (Fig. 9 and Fig. 14) and some smooth with sharp edges (Fig. 5 and Fig. 6). I was running out of inspiration and just started to draw randomly with sharp hard lines and that's when I drew Fig. 12 and realised this was an axe I could definitely imagine my Tin Man holding. The second photo is my elevation shots for the Main Prop Design showing the side, front, 3/4 and back views of the Tin Man's axe with a close up of the handle grip.

I have a lot of ideas for the dystopian city scene now that I’ve found reference photos for it. I like the crumbling buildings but I’d like to make the buildings more futuristic. I also like the broken down cars blocking the roads. I’m inspired by these images and I think  this will be my scene for the animatic.

Even though I really like the idea of an arcade idea I feel like I’ve hit a road block with this one.
