Gameplay
The pink-haired girl is Beat, and she is you, and you have a lot of things to worry about. The cops are everywhere, and they are mad at you for what feels like no good reason. Though it doesnāt help your case that you keep making friends with people that the cops are mad at for slightly better reasons. But what do we know? Talk to people, help them out (or donāt), play huge concerts, and punch cops. And then run away from the cops you punched. Also there are monsters or something. Not sure whatās going on there?!?! All of this culminates in massive setpieces where everything is at stake. The music got you here. Itāll get you through it.
Party Like Itās 1999
UNBEATABLEās full arcade mode is an entire game by itself with its own progression system and a full online component. There are modifiers, tons of songs (with more to come!), and a whole challenge board to beat, with things to do that range from as simple as ābeat a song on easy modeā to, one may presume, something as complicated as āsolve an ancient riddle while skateboarding.ā Thatās not a real example.

HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT WAAAAUUUHGHGHGHGHHHHHH
FUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
NO WAYYYYYYYY
UNBEATABLE: D-CELL GAMES is making a rhythm adventure dripping with style.
Unbeatable is an undeniably fun, stylish, and rock & rolling project by D-CELL GAMES, and I really am looking forward to playing it when it comes out. The art direction obviously shows alot of love for classic anime styles, and really reminds me of both FLCL, and the various works of the Scott Pilgrim oeuvre. The dynamic game play, along with what sounds to be an amazing soundtrack, ( here's the sound cloud,) also reminds me of the wonderful aesthetics and flow states of Sega classic Jet Set Radio, and the more recent Hi Fi Rush.
Also, the character designs of the main band seems really fun and vibrant, and the make for a great ensemble when all on stage together. The world also seems to have a narrative flare for teen rebellion, and civil disobedience in a way that is deeply punk. Also the mini games and rhythm sequences all seem perfect for getting lost in the games well tailored setting. As D-Cell themselves say "We're making a game where music is illegal and you do crimes."
I will note that despite having all my hope to see it come out, the above was a re-announcement trailer, and the game's website seems to be down at the moment, but have a little faith in the 2025 release window, and wish list this awesome looking game to show some support!

Release Date Trailer
UNBEATABLE delayed to December 9 - Gematsu
PublisherĀ PlaystackĀ and developerĀ D-CELLĀ haveĀ delayedĀ rhythmĀ adventure gameĀ UNBEATABLEĀ from itsĀ previously plannedĀ November 6 release date to December 9. It will be available forĀ PlayStation 5,Ā Xbox Series, andĀ PCĀ viaĀ Steam.
In a message, the companies said the delay is the result of ā[quality assurance] [hitting] a low-repro progression blocker last night thatās serious enough itās considered unreleasable,ā which fixing would require pushing the console release back due to certification timelines, and they would rather not release for all platforms at once, versus PC first and consoles later.
Here is the full message from Playstack and D-CELL:
Hi!Ā UNBEATABLEĀ was supposed to come out tomorrow! Thatās a scary sentence. Hereās a worse one:Ā UNBEATABLEĀ will now release on December 9. I hate that I have to say this. Thereās no way to apologize for it that feels like enough. Iām personally sorry about this and I wish it was different.
Why Would You Only Tell Me Now?
Because the decision was only made a few hours ago. (No, really, Iām writing this right after the meeting where the decision was made). We are telling you this as soon as we possibly can.
But Why? The Gameās Done, Right?
Thereās a very boring and frustrating reason; [quality assurance] hit a low-repro progression blocker last night thatās serious enough itās considered unreleasable. Fixing this would require pushing the console release date back because of [certification] timelines, and not fixing this is, well. We refuse to do that. Weāre fixing it.
But Why Not Just Delay the Release of the Console Port?
Thatās very messy! Weād rather release the game all at once for everybody.
But Why Release on December 9? Thatās a Whole Month Away!
Another boring reason you can figure out pretty quickly by googling the phrase ā2025 game release calendarā and looking at whatās hitting this month. We had a pretty good spot on November 6 where we made a small little island for ourselves, and skipping that date necessarily means skipping forward a lot to find another island, and thatās the closest one we had. On the plus side, it gives us breathing room we didnāt have before to do some pre-launch things we wanted to do that had to get pushed back because of finishing the game in time for, well, tomorrow.
ā¦But is the Game Good?
Itās very good, and Iām very biased. Weāll see what reviewers think. But for those of you waiting the longest for this thing to come out, it makes me feel a bit crazy knowing how much you still donāt know about whatās this thing is. Iām very excited about it. I wish it could have been tomorrow, but. Thank you to everyone whoās rooted for us up until this point. Itās not much longer now. āRJ Lake and everyone at D-CELL and Playstack
UNBEATABLE demo for PS5, PC now available - Gematsu
A demo for rhythmĀ adventure gameĀ UNBEATABLEĀ is now available forĀ PlayStation 5Ā viaĀ PlayStation StoreĀ andĀ PCĀ viaĀ Steam, publisherĀ PlaystackĀ and developerĀ D-CELLĀ announced.
Here is an overview of the game, via Playstack:
UNBEATABLEĀ is an anime-juiced rhythm adventure where you (figuratively) destroy on stage while you (literally) destroy on stage. DuringĀ rhythm gameplay, you only need two buttons: a button for up and a button for down. Simple to understand! The complicated part is doing it. Try not to get destroyed yourself. Half the game is walking around and taking things at your own pace. The other half is trying to keep up with ours. The pink-haired girl is Beat, and she is you, and you have a lot of things to worry about. The cops are everywhere, and they are mad at you for what feels like no good reason. Though it doesnāt help your case that you keep making friends with people that the cops are mad at for slightly better reasons. But what do I know? Talk to people, help them out (or donāt, Iām not your mom!), play huge concerts, and punch cops. And then run away from the cops you punched. Also there are monsters or something. Not sure whatās going on there?!?! All of this culminates in massive setpieces where everything is at stake. The music got you here. Itāll get you through it. UNBEATABLEās full arcade mode is an entire game by itself with its own progression system and a full online component. UNBEATABLEĀ is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC viaĀ SteamĀ in 2025.
