Unlike some of the X-Men, Logan didnβt spend all his time at the mansion. Since heβd joined the team, heβd come and gone as he pleased, stopping by for short periods before heading out again. He was never sure what he was looking for, out in the world. He figured maybe heβd know if he found it, but truth be told, he wasnβt even sure of that. One thing he did know, though, was that when he thought of home, it was always that mansion that came to mind. That place, the people in it... That was the closest Logan had ever come to belonging.
He pulled his bike into the driveway now, switching it off as he parked it under a nearby tree. There werenβt many places to go now, he knew. New York was on its own, separate from the rest of the world. Going home seemed natural, seemed right. Making his way to the door, he ignored a few kids he didnβt recognize who stared at him curiously. There were always new faces at the mansion, of course; Chuck had a habit of collecting strays that had done Logan a lot of good once upon a time. When he was in the mood, heβd learn their names, but right now, he wanted a familiar face. He didnβt have to look hard to find one. She was in the hallway by the entry, back to him, and Logan approached her slowly, coming to a stop and leaning against the wall behind her.Β βHey, kid,β he greeted, offering her a nod.Β βYou let the world go to shit while I was off?β
