BACKGROUND: Growing up with strict parents, Lucille was made to fit the mould of the perfect daughter and ideal future housewife by being taught all kinds of domestic skills, like cooking and cleaning, from an early age. During her teenage years, a time of adolescent rebellion, sexual awakening and the goth phase she refuses to grow out of, Lucille decided to oppose her parents' expectations and use her skills to become independent right after graduating high school. Having moved out and started studying culinary arts at university, Lucille was promised a bright future as a chef in the world of gastronomy, but despite acing her studies and graduating with enviable results, Lucille's future ended up being bleaker than promised. Being rejected from various high-end establishments one after the other is making her resort to working in alleyway bistros and diners, just like she did part-time as a student. Lucille feels as though all her efforts are going to waste and that she won't be able to reach her full potential. By being in the competition, Lucille hopes to make a name for herself and receive a stamp of approval that would truly kickstart her career, regardless if she wins or not. If she does, the money would go into furthering her collection of second-hand exotic taxidermy animals, maybe even get her a new eyeliner pen or two.

PERSONALITY: While her goth aesthetic, paired with skulls and pagan imagery, as well as her interests in tarot, taxidermy and vintage indie horror films may make for an overwhelming first impression, everyone who encounters Lucille becomes instantly charmed by her caring and motherly aura, giving her the "mom friend" status among her circles. She enjoys cooking for her friends and helping them when in need, which unfortunately also makes her prone to getting jealous of other people's friendships and deeply upset if her good deeds are being taken for granted. She operates well in competitive, high-pressure environments, but her good-hearted nature may pose itself as a threat to her success in the competition.

Bailey Kay confirms her appearance as a judge on this season of the hit show Tungsten Chef by @cyberth0t. Having a refined palate means BK is all business when it comes to food, and she did not come to play with these chefs. She might twerk a little something though if these dishes are hitting the way they should. We shall see. Good luck Chefs!

TUNGSTEN CHEF SUBMISSION -KARYN-DEIRDRE PAXTON-

NAME: Karyn-Deirdre Paxton

PRONOUNS: She/Her

HOME CITY: Oasis Springs

BACKGROUND: Karyn-Deirdre took the world by storm as a contestant on the ill-fated Quid’s Big Brother Season 2. As a once devout follower ot the Watcher and attendee of the Church of the Llamaday Saints, with some narrow-minded views to boot, Karyn-Deirdre was a polarising character. However, the viewers did not get to see the full extent of her stint on the show, as the presenter embezelled the funds and ran off, leaving her and the other contestants high and dry.

  Since the show, Karyn-Deirdre’s life has done a complete 180. Not only did she abandon her church (”the Watcher can be celebrated in many other ways!”, she said after Susan Bletchley won the baking competition through absolute disgraceful riggery), she moved to a ‘commune’ with fellow contestant, Javier Hernádez, whom she developed a relationship with. As self-designated chef at the commune, she was responsible for feeding the followers on meagre rations and Jav’s special garden herbs, so she feels confident in her ability to turn out a meal under duress.

  Karyn-Deirdre feels that her past experiences will lend themselves perfectly to Tungsten Chef. Not only is she a mother of two (the restraining orders are nothing to do with her cooking), but she isn’t afraid of getting her hands dirty or playing dirty for the greater good, as proven by a cacaphony of accidents that befell various church baking competitors who had the misfortune of competing with her.. 

  She and Jav have moved out of the commune and live in his mother’s old bungalow in Oasis Springs, where they own chickens and she helps Jav grow special mushrooms that she has been told to never mention. She put them in bolognese once and the walls started melting,so she didn’t enjoy them particularly, but Jav seems to adore them!

PERSONALITY: As a result of the special breakfast bars her darling Jav bakes for her, Karyn-Deirdre may seem filled with glee as opposed to her previous rampant snobbery, but she’s still the same mean, unhinged person she always was. Just minus the targeted bigotry and classism. She hates everyone equally now.

NAME: Fabula DeTate

PRONOUNS: She/Her

HOME CITY: Belgravia, London.

BACKGROUND: Fabula was raised in luxury so decadent she relates very little to anyone she meets. Her razor sharp eye for style has led her to become the premier Fashion Stylist of the world. Her methods are harsh, complex and seen by most as excessively cruel... But Fabula will always gets results. When needing to decompress from the world of High Fashion, Fabula turns her talents to the kitchen. Fabula has fond memories of the exquisite dishes she would ask for in her childhood, often demanding incredibly difficult confections that required expensive ingredients and highly specialised techniques to create. As the exhausted chef would present young Fabula with her request, she would take one bite... savour....throw her head back and laugh then throw the entire dish to her pet crocodile, much to the chef’s dismay. Very little has changed about Fabula’s love for haute cuisine, only now she has realised no one can cook as well as she can. She enjoys the challenge; the technical achievement of creating something almost impossible and spending unspeakable amounts simoleans on ingredients. The only difference now is that after her singular bite, she throws the dish off of her penthouse balcony and delights at the screams as it lands on the passers by below. To Fabula cuisine is just another form of design, the flash of the photographer’s camera no different to the fire of a saucepan. Fabula wants the world to know how it should be done, and she will stop and nothing to win.

PERSONALITY: A young journalist once described Fabula as a ‘Dusty old shark who fears fresh talent’, As someone who ‘talks about herself in the third person to the point its uncomfortable’, and that she ‘wears such strong perfume she can set off the fire alarm in neighbouring buildings’. Sadly the journalist is still listed as a missing person. Fabula enjoys the sound of people flinching as she walks past, the chill of the air turning cold with the click of her stiletto and hard german techno music at 7am. She takes particular delight in being wasteful, unkind and could never be friends with anyone who doesn’t fear her entirely. Diva would be an understatement. Though there are 2 sides to every coin... Fabula is truly rotten on both.

NAME: Jonathan Pruett

PRONOUNS: He/him

HOME CITY: Willow Creek

BACKGROUND: Jonathan is the 9th heir of the Pruett legacy, growing up in luxury, wanting for nothing. As a young boy, he loved his grandmother’s cooking and was fascinated by not only how she put flavors together but also by how her food made him feel. From her, he learned food wasn’t just sustenance but an experience he wanted to share with the world. He opened his first restaurant immediately after high school. But after poor, reckless decisions, his childhood best friend betrayed him, taking the family’s money, home, and restaurant. Jonathan had some hard lessons to learn, and it took a while. But soon the passion he had for his dream returned, and he and his wife began saving money to open a new restaurant, which he named after her dear grandma, Viviana’s. The restaurant was much more successful than he ever could have imagined. He was even featured in a few magazines because everyone wanted to know how he picked himself up from the ashes to try again. Jonathan is a huge fan of Tungsten Chef and never thought he’d ever go on TV. But...call it a midlife crisis, or just wanting to try something new, he figured, why not try. Maybe he can show all the young folks a thing or two, heh.

PERSONALITY: Jonathan is a goofball through and through. His database of dad jokes is unmatched, much to his daughters’ chagrin. He loves to have a good time. Even though he’s not living a life of luxury anymore, he does everything to the full. Whether it is a simple backyard cookout or a wedding reception, it will be the best event you’ve ever attended. He loves his wife, Skyla, more than life itself. He also loves his hair. Sky spends her days shaking her head at him for spending more time in the bathroom than she does. He probably has more products too!

HOME CITY : Brindleton Bay

BACKGROUND : Soraya is a arabic french woman who traveled to SimsNation after her parents death, with her little sister Leïla. As she always was the big sister + the mother to Leïla, Soraya learnt how to be independant before she was 10. Cooking is probably what she preferes the most in the entire universe as it brings her so many joy and memories. As she grew up in France in an arabic family, Soraya’s cooking is full of cake, spices and warm flavours ! Her top 5 are : the famous Beef Bourguignon (she cooks it without porc because she doesn’t like it) / the couscous / the chorba (her grand grand mother recipe ! best meal on Earth) / the famous croissant ! (she loves to bake) / the fruit pie.

Professionally, Soso is what you call “a good employee” as she’s not affraid to double her shift if need or to skip a day off to help a colleage, as long as she can help and cook she feels happy ! But she sadly doesn’t have a lot of experiences as an official chef except from her last job at the B.B Drive Restaurant . She has quited this job recently to start her own carreer somewhere else ...

PERSONALITY : Soso is actually the mom friend, in a good way. You know that one person who always thinks about your birthday or a special something you like ? That one person who’s not even close but you know you can tell all your dark secrets without one judgment but only acceptance and kindness ? She’s that kind of friend and relative. She’s also super funny when no one expect it and open minded. She also has a curious side as she always try to test new tastes and recipes but she has also some trouble to relax and control her stress when the tension is very high. But anyway, no one is perfect and Soraya is very very patient so ... Hope that will help ! One more thing though, Soso actually always cook with music on. She even choose specific songs depending on what she cooks.
