“absolutely not.” his tone was sharp and stern. “absolutely the fuck not, rogers. we did not get this far in this fight to have you sayin’ goodbyes. not a fucking chance. when we decided to try this, we decided everyone was coming home. this mission does not succeed unless we all come home- the people thanos took, and the team. i am not sacrificing anyone for the sake of this plan. i have reworked this plan dozens of times; not a damn one of them includes you dying. 

Barely having woken up and poured himself a cup of coffee, Bucky didn't even realize what day it was when a kiss was placed on his cheek, staring at Steve in utter confusion until the words finally clicked in his head. "Thank you," he leaned in and stole a kick kiss before resting back against the countertop to take a sip from the hot mug in his hands. "You dancing? I think that alone is the best birthday gift. Are you going to be able to keep up with me, Rogers? I give you a few pointers if you need me to." The smirk over the lip of the coffee cup was sly and playful, not able to help himself but to tease.

She hadn’t thought that deciding to take pictures in that moment would lead to where it had. Her and Captain America had shared a glance in the chaos. Kind of wild actually because she’d never seen the man in person before. She’d only seen him in pictures and videos. As unexpected as that had been? The getting shot by aliens was more so. Probably because she had never dealt with an alien before in her entire life.

She hadn’t even been sure they were real. But they were now on her shit list. It had been chaotic to say the least and she’d spent time in the hospital. It had meant being able to work for a bit was impossible. Even if she had gotten paid quite a bit for the photos that she’d shopped around from the actual day of.

Matt would be lying if he said that working with other people didn’t still bother him, especially when those other people were highly visible and well known Avengers.  The way he worked was in the shadows - sure, sometimes the news would report the odd sighting of Daredevil, but those were thankfully rare; he didn’t imagine it would be so easy to stay hidden while working with Captain America.  But, Margot had asked him to help, and help he would.

He’d been listening from the rooftop of the building where he’d arranged to meet the Avenger - it wasn’t hard to tell his footsteps from the general public.  Using the grapple on his billy clubs, Matt swung down from the top of the building to the ground, landing a few steps away from Steve.  Was it completely necessary to make an entrance like that? No, but Matt did have a flair for the dramatic.
