It's been a bit since I've done any mycelium updates, but I'm really quite excited with how everything is growing. I spawned my mycelium cake to bulk substrate. I'm trying three different ones. Hay, CVG (coco coir, vermiculite, and gypsum), and for fun a bunch of paper shreds I had from my shredder. They are all doing exceptionally well, truly I am astonished at the rate of growth I've seen. It's so exciting getting up every day to see how much more it has grown. I did end up having two quart jars of grain spawn leftover so I'm going to let them fruit in the jars if possible. If that doesn't happen I'll just dump them into my garden beds (they're amazing for the soil and there's a chance you'll get some mushrooms growing out there too!)
In order I'll show the CVG, paper, and hay. I chose to do the bucket method for the hay since I've seen others have mass success with it. The increased airflow that hay allows for in comparison to other substrates allows for you to use a much larger container than you would otherwise be able to.
