yep, she was. after finding the chair, the ankle monitor, and the bolt cutters, she couldn't help but imagine what wix had done to hodges—and especially in light of what she knows he did to guillermo—and she got overwhelmed with fear.
throughout the investigation, she's been telling hodges, grissom, herself, and everyone else that everything will turn out all right in the end, but staring down that grisly scene, she was confronted with the unavoidable sense that there could be no happy resolution to this story.
