I am postponing the next Customary chapter a few hours ( Now at 8:30 PM MST ) I gotta get some stuff done after work with my husband so I can't post when I usually do <3 <3 It is coming though, have a tease:
“I asked Echo… to stay.” Noa was hesitant with the words he chose to tell his friends. His green eyes flickered to theirs for the reactions, which admittedly, in the moment, didn't seem too bad. Well, until the words finally sunk in and Soona’s eyes met Noa’s with a bit of a widened stance and flurried worry, Anaya put it together and sputtered, grasping the side of his head with both hands before gesturing broadly at the hut where the Echo was before gesturing back at Noa.
The Leader only nodded in confirmation to Anaya’s silent inquiry. “Cannot tell anyone! Secret… Very…” He paused and pressed his lips together firmly into a coiled line of nerves, “Very… important to me.”

Central Cee Swaps Out His Customary Nike Tech for a Quart...
Even Central Cee has hung up his Nike Tech fleece in favor of the quarter zip and matcha way of life. Months after claiming he began the pattern of sporting Nike Tech within the United States, Cee posted a video of himself to TikTok on Monday wherein he is sipping matcha whereas sporting a quarter zip. The feedback are suffering from folks in disbelief over this surprising growth. “Nike tech’s…
Africa: Ethiopia's Unwatched Customary Courts
Traditional justice is in high demand, but an unaccountable system could perpetuate discrimination and undermine human rights. Traditional justice mechanisms are among Ethiopia’s most enduring alternative dispute resolution avenues. They are rooted in indigenous systems that predate the formal judiciary and provide accessible, affordable and culturally legitimate justice for millions. In recent…

I personally get really annoyed at people who are derisive about the Customary/Imperial system. Yes I'm aware the math isn't neat and tidy, but have you considered the reason for that? All Customary/Imperial Units derive from approximate measurements that various peoples in the area were already using, just standardized. That's the whole reason they exist the way they do, and probably a reason it stays for so long, want to know how long 5 inches is? An inch was originally defined to be the width of a thumb, so measure out 5 thumbs and you'll have an approximation of how long 5 inches is (later an inch was defined as the length of three ripe barleycorns and a dozenth of a Foot).
The only reason why Metric's multiples of ten make any sense is the fact we are use a base-ten numbering system, which is extremely arbitrary (and I would argue that it isn't even the best system). And whilst the math is neat and tidy, there's nowhere near as many nice ways to approximate units in real time unless you are carrying a ruler around.
It's almost like there's tradeoffs, use metric and the math is easy, but it's harder to approximate, use customary/imperial and the math is somewhat harder but you can approximate much easier.
It's customary in some undersea cultures for newcomers to present themselves to the rulers of an undersea kingdom or city along with their heirs or heiresses to the throne
