this group covers the races of men, as well as all other beings that share a roughly similar, finite lifespan. humans or other beings in this category who have extended their lifespans due to magical or other sinister means still come under this category as they can only postpone their ultimate fate, not defy it entirely.
both the high folk and deep folk, as well as similar beings come under this category. this does not include gods or spirits, only beings that are born and live on the earth, but potentially have the ability to live indefinitely. unlike gods and spirits, they are still subject to death through injury or illness and subject to most of the same limitations as mortals.
like gods, spirits such as aetha or ikalla are beings without earthly origins, much like gods, however their creation is a rather clearer subject, all stemming from their creators, the gods in some shape or form. they cannot be killed with sickness or many mundane weapons, but other spirits, gods, or lesser beings with magical means at their disposal can achieve it.
unlike immortals, gods are beings that have no concrete, earthly beginnings. instead their origins are some of the few things that remain unknown even to them. while they too are also not subject to disease and most conventional weapons, they are not impossible to kill, either by other gods, or by them choosing to give lesser beings the means to do so.
