HE COULD HEAR the disgruntled howls of the baron even over the roar of magic that pulsed violent waves of purple hued energy towards the portal. it was bitterly distracting, and daigo knew his time would be cut short. again and again and again he would try; giving up wasn't an option. it would be a DOOM to the island, to his people, to his family. let him be nothing more than a smear of blood left before he let anything happen. he could stop this at the s o u r c e if they would all just stop getting in his way.
a yelp signaled the flee, and with a shout, daigo ripped his arms back, cutting off the flow, feeling it slam into him with retaliation. teeth were gritted behind his mask, but eyes revealed nothing but contempt. the energy hummed and his fingertips burned. darkness drew around his fingers, and he wheeled upon his heels with intention of flinging it at whoever disturbed his progress.
infuriating - he was forced to fling the remaining power into the earth, scarring grass with ink like scorn. it was time to make his departure. if he looked too long, he might f e e l that horrible itch that crawled up his spine. worry. concern. what they were trying to give him, but daigo couldn't allow. it would be distracting.
did no one realize he was doing this for them?
footsteps began to draw him away, something sizzling a fire in his chest. anger, perhaps. he wasn't sure. he did know he needed to LEAVE, and he was preparing the general teleport spell he had grown accustomed to ( the very one he instilled into the masks that kane's men wore ). don't look, don't look. if he saw jade and kendo's faces... daigo wouldn't allow his focus to shift.
but before his magic was readied, he did offer them one cry. "stay out of my way!"
