Life isn’t stagnant. It’s not sad here - yes, a lot of big things are happening - aren’t they always? For everyone?
Big wins I’m taking into this new year -
> I’ve successfully started teaching a yin-sculpt blend yoga class 1st and 3rd Friday evenings of the month. It was a BIG deal for me to rip that bandaid off. I was getting my yoga teacher training cert when my Mom was placed into remission. I hate that word. I hate cancer. That didn’t mean for us what we hoped it would mean.
When we got the all clear, I was in peak shape. Teaching yoga at my old studio. It was a good stretch. Later, when things changed, it was one of the things that slacked off. Then my studio closed. I did find Stardust in the next few months (?), and I practiced there, and still do, and I feel so good there, and have healed so many things, not only there but through my life outside of there during this latest time span, when a teacher left and another didn’t come, I found myself telling the owners I had my cert. I started after Thanksgiving.
The first class was bumpy. It wasn’t awful and the playlist and attendees were awesome. The next class was better, but what I had planned wasn’t even remotely possible for one of the attendees and I had to adjust the whole class by the seat of my pants - which I did and it didn’t suck. The 3rd class was solid. It didn’t flow 100% a couple spots. The transitions I had set in my mind didn’t pan out fluidly, it went though, and everyone laughed and it was good. Then this last one, last night, was the best. Only one transition was wonky, it wasn’t bad, just awkward, the attendees were sighing heavy, deep relaxing sighs, really getting into the repetitive postures. I felt a connection, a synergy with the attendees. It was an elevated experience. Everyone left chill and happy. I’m so proud of myself for re-exploring this part of me. For finding the peace to be able to open up and bring that to others. It feels like a gift. Im slow going while I catch my stride. It feels good though.
> the road dispute to our other property will be over this spring. Long story short, my grandparents gave an egress on their property line for a road. Several pieces were landlocked, and the egress allowed for a road to those back properties. This has been a public road my entire life. It’s paved and on maps. When my uncle sold his inheritance piece however, and the guy went to build, one of the property owners adjacent to my grandparents said the road was private property. It’s been a whole fiasco digging through old deeds and tax records, city maps, et al. All the facts have been gathered and will be presented this month and everything cleared.
Why this matters. My mom deeded me 5 acres on the back of the farm, off this egress, then my grandmother deeded me 5, then I purchased the last 5 that backs up to the next owners property line. The back of the acreage is to a greenway. It’s lovely. The plan has been to put a retreat up there. It’s not super far, close to my dad, where I grew up, next door to my aunt and uncle. We could go up on weekends, be up there during the breaks with the kids, I could work remote from there. Maybe eventually retire there.
Once this property dispute is done, we are having our 3 pieces surveyed together and starting to plot out where would be the best house placement, etc. cultivate the land. We won’t build the house, or start, until ours is paid off. WHICH IS CLOSE!!!
Several great wins guys. There were more. It seems so often the tough stuff is forefront.
Good stuff guys. What were your grows?
