I think it's because Eryngo tried to expand the size of their Hi-they totally mean can, which with distant frontiers was considered tabboo, and the ancients considered it as such, and they did it right in front of the ancients, not waiting for the mass ascension, so they decided to make a new consciousness and puppet so that they don't violate the tabboo this time
ohhh hmm….. inch resting….. maybe then when they made hyacinth they deactivated eryngo somehow. but then after the mass ascension hyacinth reactivated eryngo right back up? somehow. maybe
