One of the best parts of going to @uscedu was meeting life-long best friends. And we show up. And one of those friends @kkaisergray has created a first of its kind, groundbreaking foundation called @curebatten. Both of their young daughters were diagnosed with Batten disease CLN-6, which is rare and fatal, and up until they started their non-profit, had little to no funding for research. But the Grays werenโt having that, and raised over $7 million in 1 year to fund research and treatment for their daughters and other children โค๏ธ They have also created an amazing school @thegrayacademy in Santa Monica to serve these neurodiverse children, who otherwise would not have an option for school. And now they are launching a second #grayacademy in Orange County to serve the needs of the kids down south. So we all came together to celebrate this amazing milestone.
