And I feel like someone on the team said to themselves "Hey now Punk. We make this motherloving show. We make the motherloving trailers. Get on our level." 

I really like to imagine them saying that. 

hm well!! i've done this before and it was very messy and terrible so advice i'd give to someone would be:

remember that it's necessary for your own health/happiness/whatever. remind yourself of this every time you feel sad about it. you love this person, love the attention they give you, or whatever, but there will be other and better people after them. tell them goodbye + explain yourself if you want to and cut the line. don't go see them, don't message them, don't look at old messages, don't look on their blog or otherwise check up on them. don't guilt trip yourself over it either, thinking "i could have done better" or "what if this happened instead" or whatever, you can't change what happened, and beating yourself up like that just makes it feel worse. you can mourn the relationship, of course, but don't get so hung up on it you do yourself more harm than good.
