Art - Piero Manzoni di Chiosca e Poggiolo, better known as Piero Manzoni (July 13, 1933 – February 6, 1963) was an Italian artist best known for his ironic approach to avant-garde art. Often compared to the work of Yves Klein, his own work anticipated, and directly influenced, the work of a generation of younger Italian artists brought together by the critic Germano Celant in the first Arte Povera exhibition held in Genoa, 1967. Art - Villa E1027, Eileen Gray. (Unauthorised mural by Le Corbusier) It is said that Le Corbusier painted these murals (whilst naked) as a means of defacing a villa designed by the masterful, but lesser-known, Eileen Gray. The sexually explicit artworks were reportedly his retaliation against the fact that the female architect had dared to design this building in “his” International Style, and they have led some people to erroneously believe the structure is his own work.
