Las metas se van construyendo de apoco, con pequeños granos de arena encontraras el camino que deseas construir... CUPCAKELAND.
Cupcakeland – Williamsburg, Brooklyn
If there were one place I will make a return visit when I go back to Williamsburg, it would be Cupcakeland.
Two childhood friends from Poland created this adorable little bakery.
Alex (the baker) and Kate (the eater) sell over 18 different cupcakes over the course of a week.
While I was trying to decide which cupcakes would come home with me to the Upper East Side, some old school rap from the Run–D.M.C. era was pushing through some small laptop speakers. It was the perfect compliment to this adorable place, and I wish it was pumping louder throughout the entire shop.
Cupcakeland also offers a large selection of cookies including gluten free and vegan options.
I was here for cupcakes though, and I was informed two of the customers favorites were the Oreo and the Banana-Nutella, and the latter being their most popular.
I brought home one of each, and I also got a coconut and the Guinness.
The coconut was outstanding. The cake in this cupcake and the others I purchased were delicate and light. The frosting was so good and creamy it literally made me close my eyes and go 'mmmmm' like in one of those cheesy commercials. And the coconut gave this tasty delight a nice bit of crunch.
I will purchase this cupcake every time I visit the shop in the future.
The Guinness cupcake was a delicious tribute to my favorite beer with the perfect amount of dry stout taste.
I do love crunch in my food, and Cupcakeland helped me realize I like some in my cupcakes as well. The Oreo was as good as promised, and the cookie crumbs sprinkled on top of the frosting gave it some nice texture.
Saving the best for last, I agree the Banana-Nutella was the rockstar of the bunch, and that's saying a lot because I really loved the coconut.
Like all of the cupcakes, Cupcakeland doesn't take a sledgehammer of flavor to my tongue. The cake, frosting and flavor are perfectly balanced, and my only complaint would actually be a compliment. These little clouds of cake and frosting are so moist; they fall apart in your hands with each bite.
I am excited to say Cupcakeland is so good I think it can be mentioned in the same breath with two of my other favorite cupcakes – Magnolia Bakery and Buttercup Bake Shop.
