Looking up Olga’s magecraft feats and spells for reasons, I just noticed from the Case Files Grace Note anime: the magic circle that appears when she cast the Animusphere signature spell of summoning meteors...it has cuneiforms written around it!
This is kinda surreal, because usually magic circles are just lazy and have runes around them. Even in the Nasuverse with occult lore guy Miwa Kiyomune on board it does use that lazy cliché. But other times, the Nasuverse pleasantly surprises by actually making the magic effects relevant to the character’s magecraft, as seen here. I don’t know if it’s because of Miwa, Nasu, or someone else, but Olga tend to get pretty nifty background details when she does magecraft. She enchants stones by inscribing them with zodiac signs, and to do so she puts them in a magic circle filled not with magical symbol but orbital paths, like you would see in a picture of the solar system.
And now cuneiforms. Because Chaldea and the fact that Chaldeans became synonymous with astrologers.
I have no idea what they mean, obviously, but it’s still wild.
