The birds chirped outside the window panes, the sweet sound delicate against his ears as the hum of cars seemed to ease him awake. His body ached, exhausted from this past week’s duties. Being a major in criminology was fun, but sometimes he felt he couldn’t catch a break. Despite the overwhelming amount of work he had on his plate, he cherished mornings like this.
Mornings where the outside world was just a faded memory and he was hidden beneath warm linens and gentle sunlight. He stretched the best he could, arms wrapped around his body as the man behind him groaned in protest, displeased Diluc had even moved at all. The light laugh Diluc had let out was drowsy as he cradled the head that insisted on hiding itself in his stomach, twisting the orange locks.
“I have to get up.” He smiled as the grip around his waist tightened.
“Nooo,” Ajax had complained, too comfortable with the soft smell of pine and wood smoke to even consider moving from the sheets.
“What he said.” Thoma mumbled into his shoulder as Diluc’s fingers lazily traced the scar across Ajax’s chest. A beautiful scar really. Diluc couldn’t help but smile, his boyfriends insisting they slept in. He hadn’t said anything to end this serene moment of whispered words and soft cuddles.
A few more minutes wouldn’t hurt.
