That answer was about as much as Billy would have expected after pointing out that there were two open cans of whipped cream in the fridge. For as chaotic as the lost boys’ house seemed to be on the surface, there were a lot of little rules they followed to maintain their own special sort of organization. It worked surprisingly well for them. “Which one’s for baking?” Billy asked, eying both bottles and not taking them out yet in case they were in designated spots to tell them apart. Playing Cubby’s assistant while he baked was a blessedly simple task—it was just following instruction, which Jukes was well-trained for, but this boy was leagues nicer than the crew he usually worked for. He asked instead of ordering, and didn’t get angry if Bill took a minute or asked questions. In fact, he didn’t know if Cubby was capable of getting angry; if he was, he hadn’t seen it yet.

"Not as dangerous as eating a weed brownie without realizing," Cubby couldn't help but tease, chuckling. He still felt a little bad about that, but Terence didn't seem to care, and they all had fun in the end! "Trust me, no danger here. This path just leads to a cool little forest area, I wanted to show it to you!"

     “That? No big deal,” he replied with a laugh. Cubby already knew their little party mishap was water under the bridge—at this point it was turning into more of an inside joke than anything else. Terence sure would be asking the younger boy if there was marijuana in anything he offered him from now on just to get a laugh, even if had no real concerns of the same thing happening again. “All right then, lead the way. We need to rebuild my trust in you,” he teased.

Those words meant more to him right now than Cubby could even know. More than closure with his exes or the hopeful possibility of a new romance, he really just needed to be told that somebody was in his corner. His best friend had his back. Slightly laid back on his bed and took a deep breath in and out. “Can you c’mere?” The lost boys were physically affectionate enough for a cuddle between them not to be an usual request, especially when one was so sorely needed.

“Oh, I’m sorry.” Prilla automatically stepped to the side to clear his view of…nothing. What kind of view was there in the lost boys’ apartment, crammed full of tipsy young adults? She looked back at Colin, finding that his eyes had never left her, nor had the smile on his face—that is, until Slightly walked by and rapped his friend on the head with his knuckles, playfully chastising him with a, “Hey, don’t objectify a lady like that.” Prilla laughed as the other boy kept on his way and then did a twirl for Cubby, ending in a cute little pose. She wasn’t going to think too much of the implications that he might have actually been flirting with her as that seemed far too unlikely. “You like my outfit? I spent so long picking it out; I hope it was worth it!”
