my predictions for trends in anime art styles over the next few years
increased use of complimentary shades being used for highlights and shadows. this will slowly push into the realm of absurdity. actually it already is but at least it looks cool
blush lines will phase out due to the increase of manga that is drawn on computers and/or published digitally (allowing more subtle gradients instead of black pen lines)
speaking of gradients, i expect that everything will have gradients if it doesn't already. like... eyelashes will have gradients. teeth will have gradients.
more neons because that seems to be what's trendy this decade
gradual dissolution of differences in facial features between genders
noses come back in style (please?? pretty please??)
extremely strong colour filters in some scenes
girls can have wider frames, slightly thicker proportions. it will be a very subtle difference though
a lot of glowing stuff. don't ask me what i mean by that because i don't know
