Ha! If I had made The Mad King before making my comic (and it somehow made any sense), him being the knight would be Oh So Fun to write and draw for.

He's evil and that's all u need for someone like him. He could even be a parallel to Chara's philosophy, being the absolute worst of Humanity summed up in a single evil man.

Also how do humans cope with speed runner soul entities?

As a general rule in this AU, Player influence on the world is pretty mundane. Restarting a play-through is normal and it doesn't effect the world like it might in Undertale. The Human would live their life like nothing happened if the game restarted. And whatever game you ended on, would be the one they remember. and speedrunners....?

Yeaaaaah, so.....Chara and the gang do feel a small sense of Deja-vu when reloading, but it's not integral to the plot and they don't think too much of it. (i.e. dying doesn't give 'em trauma 👍)

My main gist is that other humans do have similar save points, but the time shenanigans don't intercept with everyone. It's all just a continuous timeline.

Tbh, I haven't really fleshed out much of the save point "time travel shenanigans". The premise is too complicated to really make sense of in a casual way, especially knowing other possessions/games "time loop" over each other in universe.

how has no one put 2 and 2 together that souls are gamers? they press letters, keyboards exist, like

even more damning, video games exist, so one could assume someone would see a similar tutorial system and be like "now hold on 1/60th of a minute-"

It's set in the early to mid 2000's. Deltarune features a lot of early to mid 2000's technology, with it's big thick computers in the computer lab (a laptop here and there. i.e. Queen), and box T.V's.
