amazing how out of all cases it the ones that are the most batshit insane that make Strike famous. like no way he expected Quine to be actually dismembered in the most gruesome way. bc from the first interview with Leonore Quine it seemed sorta silly. He even brooded a bit about dropping a well paying client for Leonore.
and it continues. in tcc – the client is delusional but pays well. ts – a husband of this weird lady disappeared. coe – a leg in a box. lw – explicitly unwell guy came to his office, then a tory. tb – 40 y.o. cold case. tibh – investigating dweebs. irg – investigating religious dweebs. and it hits the gold mine every single time.
i hope by the book 10, its Rokeby who is refered as the father of that successful ex-SIB private detective Cormoran B. Strike who solved all those 10 mad crimes and not the other way around.
