Missing Pieces Chap 18: The Captain
So after only...11 months?... I have updated my MC canon divergent fic of Missing Pieces. You can read it on AO3 or ff.Ā
[Chapter summary: Emma realizes her supposed brilliant idea to use Killian as bait for a male skipās honey trap, while likely to work, was a very, very, VERY, bad idea.]
Chapter 18 - The CaptainĀ Emma spotted Killian almost immediately after entering the main room of the gay bar. Heād somehow found a glittering spotlight created by an askew light hitting the disco ball. The sparkling halo was just large enough to showcase Killianās arms as they casually leaned back into the center of the bar counter like he owned the place, only his left hand in the dark. His reclined position spread the edges of his completely unbuttoned pirate shirt much farther than she was used to, acting like a frame for the canvas of his sculpted body. The shirt begged those looking to finish the job and take it off like sheād planned.
Dammit. Heās good. Really good.
Emma never wanted to act like a ridiculously overprotective personāeven with Henryābut the urge to cover up Killian and drag him home was a very real thing.
āHey, donāt you need our drink orders first?ā The bride-to-beās voice stopped Emma in her tracks. Sheād somehow walked several steps away from the group, like Killian had a damn tractor beam pulling her in..
It took her a moment to realize what sheād done.
What, fallen into your own honey trap?
No! I just⦠I wanted to make sure heās okay.
Heās looking more than okay.Ā
It was true. Killian lookedā¦Ā
Like a hungry pirate? The same one who almost threw you down on your kitchen table earlier tonight?
Only itās not me he wants right now.
You told him to be dark, dangerous, and dominating. Heās succeeding.Ā
A little too well!
Her hands prickled with an odd tingling, like a numb appendage waking up, as a tray of drinks resting on the bar flipped over. The crash temporarily muted all conversations, although someone let out a drunken cheer.Ā
It allowed Emma to center herself. She shook the odd sensation out of her hands and took a deep breath before she blew her cover. āWe should probably find a table first. I think I see one by the stage.ā The circular table was tiny, barely big enough for two people, but the packed bar didnāt leave a lot of options. āWe should grab it before someone else does.ā
