23. Name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of & explain why you like it.

I like everything I’ve written. That sounds kind of terrible, but it’s true. But one that I’m particularly proud of, that never got that much attention because the fandom had moved on by the time I finished it, is Coming Down on a Sunny Day. The first part is a big bang fic that I really, really loved writing, and then about four years later I had this massive surge of inspiration and motivation and wrote the last, like, 70k words in about two or three months. It really feels like a masterpiece to me, as in, the kind of work that a craftsman creates to earn the title of master in their art. It has good plot, good characterization, and interesting ideas. It summed up everything I liked about Supernatural and everything I wished that it had been, instead of the dreckfest it turned into after about Season Five. I used all of myself to write it–my love of fluff and hurt/comfort, my childhood as a sibling in a close-knit family, my lessons learned as a survivor of abuse, my stubborn faith in my God despite everything that ever happened to me. I don’t even care all THAT much that it never got very much recognition, because it was incredibly satisfying just to write it and to know that I had created that thing. 

If there was one of my Voltron fics that I would tell anyone to read, it would be Boom Crash. But out of ALL of my fanfictions, over all my fandoms, Coming Down on a Sunny Day is the one that I would most WANT other people to read.
