Archive Arcanium - Shooting SpellsĀ
Subject: Crystagenesis
Even as a support (wow a) mage, it is still very important for me to have access to some offensive magic. Projectile spells are one of those things that every mage requires, and while my spells are less front-line offensive than vanquishedVailiant or dystopianScionās, they make up for this in their utility.
Zephyr Blast is a short-range projectile spell which can be controlled by the caster, much like Nanohaās āDivine Shooterā and āAccel Shooterā attacks. While not designed to deal a great amount of damage on impact, it causes a strong knockback effect to targets hit ā inspired by Throw from Mass Effects 2 and 3. This spell is designed to circumvent barriers of targets approaching me and get them away from me as quickly as possible, however it can also be used to do things such as shoot people into building and the like.
Roiling Tempest is another spell with a lot of utility. It is a medium range projectile which splits off into multiple smaller projectiles. While it doesn't directly impact the target, the smaller projectiles spiral around them, providing suppressing fire of a sort. The target is required to think carefully about their movement or they will be hit by the smaller projectiles, unless they put up a barrier to āsoak upā the hits ā which takes energy and time.
These are the most basic projectile based spells in my mageās arsenal ā being a support caster with a Bow form as part of his device, there are a lot more ⦠but they aren't as directly offensive as these two.
