i'm bored so i'm updating my crying spreadsheet and my total ammount of times i've cried this year came out to an even 70 (so far). for some reason i feel like this is a milestone that i need to share with tumblr so. yippie
genuinly fascinating data i'm gathering about myself (updated: 5/6)
cry journal update time (8/9/25)
This year, I've cried about bucky barns so many times that 8.6 percent of the tears i've shed this year have been about bucky barns. I cry about real life issues 14.8 percent of the time, I cry about varouis musicals 22.2 percent of the time, I cry about ABC Drama's (911, 911 lonestar, and grey's anatomy now too) about 27.2 percent of the time, and i cry about varouis other fictional things about 27.2 percent of the time.
Whats even funnier is that the first time i cried about bucky barns this year was in theaters for thunderbolts* on 5/1. I've been hyperfixating (again) on this man for about three months, and already he's the reason i cry about 9 percent of the time (rounding up).
also welcome to the wheel of tears, Grey's Anatomy! It currently sits at 1.3%, but knowing the spoilers that i do know, this number will probably be going up π
the current cry count for the year (as of 5 am on 8/9) is 82 cries. I feel us creeping towards 100 very slowly. maybe i should bake a cake at 100, right? Highest amount cried per month breakdown is currently tied between February and March, both months bringing a total of 15 cries.
Seeing how many times i cried about real irl issues vs. uh. stuff that's not gonna effect me in 10 years always gives some clarity (esp when it's THIS blatant 85 percent tears spent on fandom stuff. wow,,,,,,)
updated "reasons why i've cried this year" pie charts (YES MUTIPLE)
welcome to the wheel abc's the rookie :)
currently in the top spot is 911 on abc at 15.5% of the cries i've had this year, thank you tim minear
i'm learning so much valuable information about myself; mainly that i barely care enough to cry about my actual life but i care WAY to much about fictional charcters and THEIR lives haha
i wonder what the wheel would be like if i did "real life issues" v "fandom thingz" okay wait hold on
this is fucking hilarious. 88 percent of the time i spend crying isn't over real genuine issues about my real irl life. 88 percent of my tears are over musicals and fucking abc drama's this is the best fucking thing i've ever done
i could also simplify it more like:
omg look at how big the ABC DRAMA and MUSICAL categories are AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH
turns out a large part of my tears are based on two things
"Other" equals other fandom related things that made me cry and "real issue" is the irl problems i've cried about
anyways i love pie charts
