when i was reading tbk i was like wow alyosha sure does blush a lot and now reading the idiot i go wow myshkin sure does blush a lot! i wish i kept a tally but just based on impressions i think myshkin has alyosha beat
im watching demons (2014) now and i completely forgot that kirillov was there to build a bridge
(reading the idiot now) laughing so hard when ganya (seething, stamping his feet) asks myshkin how he won over the sisters and myshkin is like well i went in and started talking about switzerland and capital punishment,
reading crunishment now and why do i feel like razumikhin and mitya could be great pals. theyd go drinking together and get into a petty argument and brawl but end up sobbing in each others arms by the end of the night

after getting crunished were gonna get idioted so hard.... trying to pace myself so that i finish crunishment when my copy of the idiot arrives but it might take a while to get here and im impatient snffff ... my idiot.. when will my idiot come home
finished crunishment.... idk what the etiquette is for 150 yr old books but just in case spoilers below
it killed me when rodya was on trial and razumikhin pulls up with the landlady and all the receipts like hey. did you hear how raskolnikov used up his meager savings to support a consumptive fellow student for a whole half year and then after the student passed also took care of his ailing father until his death and buried him too. btw he jumped into a burning building to save two children, sustaining injuries that put him out of commission for a while. haha twirls hair dont u wanna reduce his sentence
i finished the idiot and i just have to say. the back cover of my edition claims the final scene is "one of the most powerful in all of world literature" to which i was like wow... you guys are setting the bar really high.... how could this possibly end to warrant such praise... then i read the ending and my eyeballs popped out of their sockets in amazement. even more mind-bogglingly because i spoiled the ending for myself and it still made my jaw drop. i think its one of my all time favorite endings now...
