But Uncle, with the Cruciatus Curse, people can die from shock. I saw it happen with others before, actually. Given enough pain and time, they can die from shock, and their brain can turn to mush. And with fried nerves, they lose all sense of self. So yes, the Cruciatus can kill.
Oh, this is true. I have done it. However, it takes an incredible amount of time and energy. They are more likely to go insane from the process than die entirely. While it takes a person a while to bleed out from sectumsempra, it takes two to three times as long for them to die from the Cruciatis, and you need to be continually applying the curse the entire time. It is a level of patience I do not possess. The screaming gets on my nerves at about the five minute mark. It is just continuous, and is much better when there are breaks in between where they beg for mercy, or cry.Â
In battle, this is impractical, and most people in general do not possess the ability and mental strength to kill with the cruciatis.Â
