he compliments you because you deserve it

he asks you to hang out because he thinks you're an amazing person

he gives you his jacket with a shrug whenever he sees you shiver

and he insists on paying for lunch just because he wants to

"don't even sweat it, cool guys always pay right?"

he makes all of his actions seem so nonchalant, like this is the minimum treatment that you deserve, he's almost a little too good at it to be honest

but there would be signs

whenever someone says something funny he looks to you to see if you're laughing

he always finds himself liking/loving your stories as soon as you post; if he isn't first he's a very close second

Soul loves in calming atmospheres, fleeting glances and protective shoulders

no one gives you crap when Soul is around

you begin to fall for him without ever noticing he likes you

it might honestly be several months before he directly asks you out on a date

until when he eventually confesses and it all clicks

but if you aren't content to wait that long you might just ask him first!

Black Star

Black Star is anything but subtle

but ironically he doesn't fully realize his feelings for you at first

when Black Star starts to crush on you it's your fighting skills he notices at first

you'd likely be sparring with Black Star over the school year and he'd notice you improving as most do

you would have just landed a hit on Black Star he didn't see coming

"not too bad, what else you got?"

he finds himself talking to you and about you a lot more

he cheers you on and gets into arguments when your opponents pulls a cheap shot

but he just does not get that he likes you, in Black Star's eyes you're just a good fighter and you deserve it

in the end it ends up being Soul to knock some sense into Black Star, stating that he's obviously into you

and for the first time in his life Black Star goes quiet

he doesn't know what to say, his mouth is dry and a million emotions are running through his head

accepentence? joy? fear? embarrassment maybe?

and then he hears you laugh and he just smiles

Black Star won't ask you out for a while

he just needs to be sure you feel the same way, and as cocky as he is, this is the one thing he isn't certain about

he'll be content to watch you and cheer you on in his odd yet lovable way

Death the Kid

out of everyone on this list Kid is probably the most direct

he realizes fairly early that he's attracted to you and realizing that he has genuine feelings for you comes shortly after

Kid tries his best to appear suave and gentlemanly around you

and thoguh most of the time it works, perfect grades, style and social upbringing

its hilariously enough his failures that make you really notice Kid

you can't help but find his outbursts about symmetry amusing

when Kid is going off in the hallway about someone knocking over a painting you pick it up and somehow manage to put it back in its place perfectly

"there you go, now it's symmetrical the way you like it!" you chirped

Kid fell harder than before that day

he would buy you small gifts in attempts to impress you

and they all manage to have meaning

the latest addition to the book series you were telling him about, a snack you'd been complaining about not being able to find to your friends

and lastly the piece of jewelry that you were upset about losing for days, you didn't know if Kid had bought the same one but with such attention to detail it made you realize that Kid has feelings for you

when you start showing interest in Kid he will turn up the charm, opening doors, complimenting your outfits when he found them "particularly exquisite"

he's just so chivalrous and refuses to let anything break that image you have of him

he not only acts better for you but he genuinely wants to be better for you

even if you find him most charming of all when he makes mistakes!

Crona Gorgon

it's so obvious when Crona has a crush on you

they become a completely different person around you

whenever you're around Crona's aura is all starlight and daisies

Maka obviously notices it first when Crona's poetry becomes significantly less depressing

Crona honestly follows you around like a puppy, much to Ragnarok's dismay of course

Crona is not cool or suave in the slightest but they are so perfect at small and genuine compliments

"You're hair looks really pretty today Y/n, I've never seen you do it like that before"

you honestly think it's the cutest thing and you never want it to end

Crona prefers to try and show you their affection through acts of service

if they're taller than you they will help you get things off of shelves, they'll help you clean up after class and make you tea or hot chocolate when you come to visit him!

occasionally, Crona gets it into their head that to win your heart they need to be more 'manly' or 'macho'

so they will try and show you they can be athletic!

until Black Star has them in a chokehold and Patty is trying to hit them with a dodgeball like poor Crona's a bowling pin

it really is endearing

there's just something about Crona that is so genuine in a way that they can't change

one time you wore a really nice white outfit and by the end of the day Crona was handing you a small bouquet of white wildflowers

"I thought they would look nice with what you're wearing"

Kilik Rung

is also very direct in letting you know he has a crush on you

it might take a little bit to figure out that he likes you, after all Kilik is very optimistic and extroverted so you wonder if he just treats everyone the same way he treats you

spoiler alert he absolutely does NOT

Kilik gives you the absolute princess treatment always

he'll pick up your books or bag and just start carrying them without asking and then follow you to your next class; even if he's supposed to be on the opposite side of the school

he'll hold open doors and pull out your chair for you if you're in shared classes

you're one of the only ones he shares his candy bars with

he'll slide you notes in class to try and make you laugh and he always shows off just a little bit more when he knows you're watching

but he plays it off as nonchalant

"what'd you think of that move there? I just thought I'd try something different"

(he's been practicing that move for two weeks and finally managed to get it right)

he'll also try to show off his strength whenever he can, volunteering to move desks, large public displays of arm wrestling competitions and even even just picking you up randomly

he's very physically strong and wants you to know it

he'll also try to spend more subtle time with you

asking to study with you for a class he doesn't understand or invite you to join a club or activity he just "thought you would like"

his friends make fun of him for how much time he tries to spend time with you but he just shrugs, he would never admit that he blushes slightly when someone brings it up

unlike most others on this list Kilik won't actually wait very long to ask you out

probably like a month or two max of him having a crush on you before he's making a move

even if he isn't sure you like him back but he notices the smaller things that would suggest you're into him and he's fairly confident

- Loves you so much, but it took a lot of getting used too. They used to be scared of you when they first joined the academy, because you were so… yourself.

- When they finally get the courage to talk to you, they expected you to make fun of them. Or kill them. But you were super nice! And from then on, you two became friends!

- Confessing was a whole different issue. Crona definitely liked you, but they were too shy to say anything. And you definitely liked Crona, but you didn’t know how to confess in a way that overwhelmed them!

- The solution? Ragnarok’s big (non visible) mouth spilled the beans about Crona’s feelings. You were ecstatic! And the rest was history

- Dates involve you dragging Crona around town so you could show them all the things they’ve missed out on when they were with the witches!

- Favourite date spots? Either bakeries or libraries. Crona loves reading, so they would drag you there for hours if they could. They send you on little trips to run around and try to find they need (because they’re too afraid to talk to the librarian)

- Bakeries are also another big hit. You two love to go find new restaurants, which involves you randomly breaking into Crona’s room and dragging her there. - Ragnarok loves food, so it’s a way to keep him at bay. When he isn’t making fun of Crona, he’s actually a great third wheel. He has no interest in romance, but you’ve come to like him as a friend - You still aren’t afraid to tell him off for being rude or hurting Crona. And after a few threats matching his violent demeanor, he actually backed off a little! Crona thanks you for it daily - Crona definitely tries to match your energy, as much as they can, but you always put their comfort first and foremost. You want them to be happy and if that means you have to turn it down a notch? You will.

bro is probably afraid of you the first time you meet (like they are of most people)

he thinks your style is so cool and it makes them nervous to talk to you

but after warming up to you they realize you're actually really nice

he's still uptight around you a bit but they've loosened up

gathered a lot of courage to ask you for fashion tips...

if you ever let them borrow something from your wardrobe they make sure to be SO careful with it

their worst fear is tearing or staining your clothes (even if they're mostly black and kind of hard to stain...)

he'll let you try doing his makeup once with much convincing but then never again because of Ragnarok's teasing

"this stuff is so heavy on my face...I don't know how to deal with this!"

you dressed them up once and poor baby just can't handle the corsets and all the accessories :(( he will just stick to admiring you while dressing more simple

he likes hanging out with you where the both of you just sit and quietly listen to music

very fond of your playlist and surprisingly, Ragnarok is too

the first time they came to your house he damn near short circuited

very confused...how is your room a complete 180 from your wardrobe?

the pink all over kind of made his head hurt since yk...he's used to the dark

but if you turn the lights down they can get comfy on your mountain of plushies (after you gave them permission ofc)

feels more comfortable around you and much safer knowing that you trusted him enough to show them this side of you

points out things when he's out with Maka that he thinks you might like and she sometimes convinces him to get it for you

• Homework? Help?

• Crona will definitely need help with their homework, but they are too shy to ask others for help and they don't want to add more work to Maka.

• What about you? But then you'll have to help them and then do your own homework as well.

• Fortunately, you noticed that your dear partner was having a little problem (They kept whispering they don't know what to do) so you asked them if they needed help with their homework.

• Crona will be overjoyed when you offer to help them, but they'll keep asking if it's okay (they want to be sure).

• So after school you invite them to your house.

• With your help, Crona will be able to complete his homework faster without any problems.

• Well, unless Ragnarok decides to interrupt you at this point, which is very likely but all you have to do is bribe him with sweets (Then he will calm down more).

• And as a reward, you will kiss him on the cheek, which will make him look red and nervous, but he won't complain (He even smiles a little!)

• I think that at the end of the day, when Crona is getting ready to leave, he will kiss you on the cheek as well

• After this whole situation, they will hide their face in the pillow mumbling how they will show themselves to you tomorrow after that kiss (Someone stop Ragnarok from making fun of Crona).

You sighed when your teacher gave you homework again, you could tell by the content that it wasn't going to be easy. When you were about to pack your books, you heard your beloved partner start whispering something to themselves, at the same time, they were slightly tugging their hair. It seemed like they were having trouble understanding their homework but were too shy to ask for help.

"Do you need help with your homework?" I put my hand on their shoulder to stop them from pulling their hair.

"...But you still have to do your homework-" "It's okay Crona. I'll help you and do my at the same time." They thought for a moment but then smiled slightly and nodded in agreement so after class you invited them to your place.

Once you were at your house, you offered them something to drink and then you started doing your homework.

"At the beginning, you need to read it to understand the task, then it will be easier for us." While you were trying to explain the task to them, suddenly Ragnarok came out and started stretching Crona's cheeks.

"Here." You gave Ragnarok a package of candies to finally calm him down and leave Crona alone. Surprisingly, you finished the task faster than you thought without any problems.

"Great job Crona!" You noticed how nervously they looked to the side and started playing with their sleeves.

"Without your help, I definitely wouldn't have made it-" They didn't even have time to finish their sentence before you kissed them on the cheek.

"And here's the reward!" You covered your mouth with your hand to stop yourself from laughing as Crona tried to say something but kept tripping over their own words. Ragnarok didn't even hold back and started laughing at them.

As you walked them to your door, Crona suddenly stopped and quickly pecked you on the cheek. To say you were surprised was an understatement, you stood in the middle of the room like a pole.

"Uhh... I'm sorry!!" Crona exclaimed realizing what they had just done and quickly ran out of your house. You just put your hand to your cheek and smiled.

At the same night, Crona was mumbling in their pillow about how they would show up tomorrow after what they did.

"You idiot, stop feeling sorry for yourself and pull yourself together!" Ragnarok took the other pillow and started hitting them with the pillow (Don't worry, Crona is fine).
