-Crocs Attack Dogs-
LOCAL: At least two dogs have been attacked in two days at Douglas Shire beaches including Rocky Point yesterday and Fourmile Beach this morning. This comes with another unconfirmed dog death at the hands of a crocodile yesterday at Cow Bay.
This week the Queensland State government released the new ‘Queensland Crocodile Management Plan’ which reclassified beaches around the area as Zone E (educate and monitor) which means removal of crocs is restricted. This plan is not supported by the shire Mayor however it does have limited support on the local council.
Locals are still undecided whether the new management plan is the right direction for an area dominated by concerns for local families and international tourism.
