The one thing I will give this fandom credit for, is that it has made me a lot more critical of media in general and now when I watch shows or movies I notice things I didn't before, specially in the way white characters are ogten centered.
Forgive me for bothering you but just wanted to express feelings that I respect your opinion that you don't like Game Of Thrones. But please don't insinuate that "There is so much shit fucked up with it."
But there is! No matter how much you love it, and I assume you do, and I'm going to watch the rest of it because I actually kinda like some bits and pieces of it. But let me list the things I found wrong just from the first episode:
Propagation of rape culture.
Usage of women as bartering chips.
Portrayal of POC as savages and nothing more.
Therefore, racism.
Did I mention, obviously from the first two points, sexism.
Or normalizing rape.
Marital rape.
Holding westernized ideals of beauty.
Ableism.
Incestuous relationships.
I understand that you might like it, romanticizing a bygone era and all that (I really don't see anything romantic about any of the relationships thus far into episode three of the first season except Khaleesi and her handmaid/servant girl). But there is just no way to ignore these factors, it's just that glaring.
I also realize that it is possible to like something while also recognizing its problematic components. So you know what, I appreciate people who say, yes I like this show, but there are several things that are pretty fucked up in here. That is all it takes to critically watch a show/movie/whatever have you.
