Despite the fact that many fans hated the Sixth Inspector,
many have come round to actually enjoy his run on later viewings.
i mean seriously, if your path in life doesn't require higher-level math, then don't study it if you don't want to, but at least be able to do the basics (PEMDAS, solving for a variable)--there are things in life that will require it (calculating tip at a restaurant, filing taxes, measuring things in crafts)
also math wasn't invented just to torture people, it was invented to solve problems
if there was no math we'd have no computers -> no internet -> no Tumblr
Some people channel all their hate into certain pop stars.
I mean seriously, what did they do wrong? Did they beat up your favorite musicians? Blow up a building? Skin your pet alive? Force you to play Gradius IV?
Me? I'd rather be protesting against people who actually do bad and stupid things, like a certain politician with a homophobia fetish and the xenophobic vice president of a certain game developer.
As much as I make anti-Tumblr posts (ironically, on Tumblr)...
I don't necessarily hate it all that much.
I appreciate it for what it is, it's just that I don't think it's as great as people make it out to be. I just wish, you know, that Tumblr didn't have so many silly design decisions, such as extremely limited commenting, poor anti-spam measures, and no way to temporarily filter out NSFW blogs (so what's the point of designating blogs as NSFW?). If those issues were fixed up, I'd have a much more positive opinion of this site.
Personally, when it comes to sites with social networking elements, I'm still more partial to Twitter and Facebook, and even then, every site I use has a specific purpose to me: Tumblr's multimedia sharing, quick posts on Twitter, Facebook for real-life friends (and some non-RL friends), Foursquare for sharing my thoughts on places and figuring out who to hang with for the day, and Google+'s widely-variable privacy.
