Cripgender
A flag for those of us whose genders are affected by being disabled/crip!
I personally find my mobility aids really change how people perceive me (a lot of dehumanisation tbh), and that's affected my sense of gender a lot over the years. And so has being neurodivergent, and not really getting a lot of social things.
I don't feel like I can separate the two - saying I'm neurogender or physigender feels too precise in a way that doesn't work for me, because I can't neatly separate them. So: an umbrella term for anybody whose gender is influenced by being disabled and/or crip* in any way. Because not everybody can or wants to specify gender things very precisely!
(*Crip is a shortening of the reclaimed slur cripple. Crip is used by disabled activists and scholars as an umbrella term, similar to how queer was reclaimed for LGBTQIA+, as a term for those who subvert and resist ableism. I know some fat and intersex folks who identify as crip but not disabled, and I consider this term open to anybody who feels crip works for them!)
Thank you to @gonyadaldysgenesis for the flag! Alternate versions here! The open box represents how we disabled people do not fit in the boxes that society expects us to be confined to!
