Idk, maybe it has something to do with Jax having a verbally abusive mom who Jax outright states one of things she’d say was that Jax wasn’t “man enough”. Or maybe it has something to do with the transfem coded character who is very clearly not at peace with/still closeted with her identity feeling uncomfortable when others get to express femininity or be gender non coforming. OR MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, an amab character doesn’t even need a deeper reason to be misogynistic because sometimes people are raised in a society with a patriarchy.

I’m not pointing this out because I think you can’t have criticisms (it’s a piece of media made public online, I couldn’t stop people from critiquing it if I tried) or be disappointed that the King didn’t end up being the kind of presence/character you were hoping for, but it’s good to consider what the creator was trying to do aswell. I’ve read (and adored) the original King In Yellow stories and I can say with confidence a Minecraft adaptation was never going to be an accurate adaption unless it was literally just people acting out the events of the og stories in Minecraft like a roleplay series.
