It's that time of year again when I hit the road for another adventure! Last year I spent a weekend exploring Sequoia National Park, which was incredibly beautiful. 🛣️🌲 This time I'll be heading to Utah & Idaho to see the upcoming solar eclipse in 2 weeks! (Fun fact: The last solar eclipse visible in the US was in 1979.) I'm super excited to experience such a rare & historical event! Apparently millions of people are expected to make the pilgrimage to the eclipse's path of totality. Crescent Meadow is lovely - not huge, but lush and green and ringed with dense pine forest including giant sequoia trees. Late April, the loop was a mess and impassable in places without getting wet. The snow melt covered the usually flat walkways at the main junction by over a foot. A great deal of the rest of the trails disappeared under huge fallen trees, patches of ice, or several inches of tree debri.
